Fisherman’s Wife Beret

Inspired by fisherman’s nets, this beret features a simple lace pattern in a soft and cozy farm yarn.

Pattern
Cast on 56 sts. Join in round, marking the beginning of the
row with stitch marker.

Work in k1, p1 rib for 8 rows.

Row 1: *k2 tog, yo. Repeat from * to end of row.


Row 2: Purl all sts.
Row 3: *k1, [yo, k2 tog] 3 times, yo. Repeat from * to end of
row. (64 sts)
Row 4: Purl all sts.
Row 5: k1, [yo, k2 tog] 15 times, k 2, [yo, k2 tog] 16 times.
(Note – start of row has moved 1 st left)
Row 6: Purl all sts to one before marker – moving start of
row back one st to the right.
Row 7: *k1, [yo, k2 tog] 3 times, yo, k1. Repeat from * to end
of row. (72 sts)
Row 8: Purl all sts.
Row 9: *k1, [yo, k2 tog] 4 times. Repeat from * to end of row.
Row 10: Purl all sts.
Row 11: * k1, [k2 tog, yo] 3 times, k2 tog. Repeat from * to
end of row. (64 sts)
Row 12: Purl all sts.
Row 13: *k2 tog, yo. Repeat from * to end of row.
Row 14: Purl all sts.
Row 15: * k1, [k2 tog, yo] 2 times, k2 tog, k1. Repeat from *

Row 21: *K4, k2 tog. Repeat from * to end of row. (40 sts)
Gauge: Row 22: Knit all stitches.
10 sts and 12 rows per 3 inches/8 cm in pattern st on 10 US/ Row 23: *K3, k2 tog. Repeat from * to end of row. (32 sts)
6 mm needles. Row 24: Knit all stitches.
Row 25: *K2, k2 tog. Repeat from * to end of row. (24 sts)
