DESCRIPTIONS : Novalux Melamine Enamel 1420 is a solid top coat


melamine lacquer type for quality wood furniture and
cabinets.

Recommended Surface All lumber should be stored on the premises in dry
Preparation warm rooms to prevent absorption of moisture. The
amount of moisture contained in a piece of wood is
referred to as "moisture content" and is as a
percentage indicating relative weight of the water in
the wood compare to its own dry weight. Wood
expands as it absorbs and shrinks when it loses it.
The moisture content of wood changes with the level
of moisture or humidity in the air. The moisture content
of wood at the time it is ed should be approximately 5-
8%.
All surfaces should be sanded smooth. Each
subsequent sanding should use a finer grit paper than
the previous. A typical system would involve using 100
grit sizes should be close enough so as not to leave
sand scratches from the first sanding that cannot be
removed by the next All sanding dust must be
removed by using either a tack rag or a blast of clean
air from a spray gun.

Recommended Surface : If any dirt or greases attaches to the surface before

Reduction is normally not required. If necessary,
reduce 5% with Thinner 896.
Can be applied by:
Conventional Spray : 25-20" Ford Cup 4
Airless Spray : 20-30" Ford Cup 4
Wood Finishing System:
1. Seal with Novalux Melamine Sanding Sealer 1370,
air dry 30 min.
2. Sand with 220 grit paper and remove all dust.
3. Topcoat with Novalux Melamine Clear 1470, if
needed apply a second coat for more builds.
4. Allow to dry before packing.

Storage & Handling : The product should be ideally stored in a cool and well
ventilated place, protected from heat and direct
sunlight. Containers must be kept tightly closed before
and after use. Handle with care.
