Shaft Laser Alignment – Overview

Laser Shaft Alignment. Shaft alignment, often called “coupling alignment”, is a process to make
two or more rotating shafts co-linear, or in the same straight line, both vertically and
horizontally.

Shaft Laser Alignment - The benefits

The bottom line is that shaft laser alignment benefits both the operator and the maintenance technician:

➢ Higher Machine Availbility

➢ Higher Machine Reliability

➢ Higher Machine Life

➢ Optimize Machine Spares

➢ Avoid Primary and secondary damagaes

Shaft Laser Alignment Type

➢ Angular misalignment is a state of shafts where the shafts

can be in vertical plan. If the motor shaft is under
an angle with the shafts in vertical position, then it called
angular vertical misalignment..

➢ A parallel misalignment parallel misalignment, the center

lines of both shafts run parallel to one another, but they are
offset.
