Pictorial Narrative Report on INSET of Teachers

S.Y. 2020-2021

Under the DepEd Memorandum from the Office of Undersecretary for Curriculum and
Instruction entitled “Suggested Measures to Foster Academic Ease During the Covid-19 Pandemic”,
the School-based In-Service Training (INSET) week of teachers was conducted by Samal NHS – Main
with the leadership of Mrs. Felisa C. Bravo, School Principal II, virtually via “Zoom” platform as part
of the new normal in education.

The fourth day of the virtual INSET hosted by Mr. Emmanuel S. Gimena Jr., T-I, started at
exactly 8:00 am with Mr. Mark Kevin Y. Dimaun, T-II, as the moderator. The opening program began
with a prayer led by Ms. Maricel V. Magpoc, T-I, followed by a Roll Call conducted by Mrs. Juliana S.
Santos, T-III. Everyone was warmly welcomed by the School Head, Mrs. Felisa C. Bravo in her
opening remarks. She emphasized that this activity for teachers and non-teaching personnel both from
Junior and Senior High School was conducted to keep the school faculty abreast with the updates in
light of the current situation of education during the pandemic.

The first topic was about “Revisiting Interim Guidelines For Assessment and Grading System in
Light of the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan which was discussed by the following faculty
members from Junior High School and Senior High School as speakers: Ms. Emmy Lou B. Vallester,
T-I; Ms. Pamelyn C. Lazarte, T-I; Ms. Desiree Lyn R. Cortez, T-I; Mr. Edison T. David, T-I; Mr.
Miguel A. Malicdem, SST-I; Mrs. Evangeline L. Pelaez, T-III; Mrs. Michica D. Natividad, T-II; and
Mrs. Raynie E. Navarro, T-II respectively. After a health break, another topic entitled “Revisiting
Suggested Measures to Foster Academic Ease During Covid-19 Pandemic” was discussed by the
following speakers: Mrs. Catherine G. Aquino, T-II; Mr. Juanito S. Bugay, T-II; Mr. Joriel J. Cruz, T-
II; and Mrs. Ma. Renalyn R. Cacayan, T-II.

The morning session ended with a closing message from Mrs. Donabel D. Dela Cruz, HT-III
with the commitment of each teacher to pursue better delivery of quality education for the learners in
the new normal.
