Types of trailers in Logistics

One of the most important elements of logistics is the transport of goods from
point A to point B. Each type of goods is different, so it is also important to
select the appropriate type of transport for a given product. Therefore, in my
presentation I would like to present several types of trailers that are used to
transport goods.
1. The first type of trailers are Deck Trailers. It is really famous type of
trailer on our roads. This trailer have especially a lot of loading space.
Ramps, which are used to load vehicles onto the trailer, are also a very
important element. Typically, these trailers are used to transport goods
that are large or difficult to load. They can be used to transport vehicles,
pallets or bales.
2. The second type of trailers that we can find on the roads are Temperature
Controlled Trailers. They are distinguished by their compact design, and
at the front we can often see a large air conditioner that is used to cool the
trailer. Such trailers are used to transport products that should maintain
freshness and temperature during transport. Such goods include frozen
foods, fresh fruit and vegetables.
3. The third type of trailer is a Curtain Trailer. These are the most common
type of trailers because they are cheap and easy to use. This trailer is
distinguished by the fact that its structure has a curtain that can be easily
opened and loaded with goods. These trailers can transport almost
anything because the tarpaulin protects the goods against weather
conditions and we can keep the transported goods anonymous.
4. The fourth type of trailers are tanks. This is a very popular type of trailer,
the structure of which is distinguished by a large barrel that is used to
transport various types of liquids. In logistics, it is primarily used to
transport fuel or milk.
5. The fifth type of trailers are tipper trailers, which are characterized by a
large loading space resembling a shell. It is usually used for the rapid
transport of bulk materials such as gravel or sand.
