1.3 Hair problems

Here are the possible hair hygiene-related issues that may
occur in the body:
 Dandruff - If a person haven’t been practicing clean
hair regularly, the dead skin developed throughout
these days does not have a way to go away. This dead
skin layer is converted into dandruff and that could
amount to one of the causes of hair fall in all the ways.
 Lice - Not knowing how to clean scalp or hair for a
long time can become a place of residence for small
insects that may become a parasite on the head and one
of hair fall reasons.
 Greasy/Oily Hair - The scalp manufactures a lot of
essential oil for the hair which may become non-
essential over time if a person do not clean their hair
properly and give the hair a chance to stay clean and
non-greasy.
 Hair fall - Not knowing how to keep the hair clean and
healthy is directly linked to hair fall. In fact, one of the
main causes of hair fall is hair hygiene. Greasy hair or
dandruff-ridden hair often becomes very prone to
breakage and hair fall affecting the growth of the hair
and changing the hair patterns. Scratching the head too
much also leads to breakage of hair which is due to lice
or any other insect in the head. The best hair cleaning
tips to deal with this hair fall problem is to keep the
head clean and healthy.

1.4 Steps to maintain hair hygiene

Understanding a person’s hair type and using particular
solutions is the most basic way to look forward to hair
hygiene. Changing lifestyle a little and eating healthy food
is another way to deal with this problem. But let’s dig a
little deeper and figure out a few detailed solutions to
maintain good hair hygiene.
 Correct Brush - Use a wide-toothed brush for wet hair
to brush through the hair. Brush the hair in parts and
remember to be gentle while brushing as well.
 Wash the hair - At least twice a day is an ideal gap for
a clean hair wash routine. Hair wash is equally
important as the gap needed between two consecutive
head washes. Too much head wash can lead the hair to
become dry and brittle but not washing the hair can
cause hair to fall in a large amount.
 Oil the hair - Oiling the hair nourishes hair from the
root to tip and gives the hair growth a boost. It also
smooths hair texture and makes it look shinier.
 Use conditioner - Learning how to keep hair clean and
properly moisturized is a great hair cleaning tip.
Moisturized hair can reduce the chances of hair fall
and keep hair well-nourished.
 Hair grooming - Cutting hair makes it grow healthier
because it removes the hair that would split. The hair at
the root is able to grow and able to maintain length and
avoid splitting.

1. Prevent germs from spreading and protect others:
Accumulate on the hands constantly, so it’s impossible
to keep them completely germ-free. But washing your
hands properly, and often, limits the transfer of germs
and has many great benefits.
2. Keeps kids healthier: Teaching children how to
properly wash their hands can cut way down on the
spread of sickness in daycare centers, schools and at
home. Tiny hands come into contact with hundreds of
different surfaces and objects on a daily basis. Keeping
those hands clean and germ-free helps kids, teachers,
parents and everyone stay well.
3. Prevents infections through eyes, nose and mouth: We
touch our eyes, nose and mouth up to four times an hour.
This adds up to dozens of opportunities for bacteria to
happily enter our bodies and cause infection. Thorough
hand washing reduces the odds that these nasty microbes
will make it anywhere near your face.

immediately after taking a bath or shower. However,
if that isn’t possible, soak nails in lukewarm water for
a few minutes.

2. Use nail cutter and disinfect. Remember to

isopropyl alcohol and then use the brush to scrub
your nail clippers or nail scissors. Afterwards, rinse
in hot water and dry them completely before putting
them away.

3. To trim nails, cut almost straight across the

nail. It is to prevent ingrown, especially on the
toenails.

4. Nails are a reflection of overall health. If you

notice a change in the color, texture, or shape of your
nail, speak to parents or guardian. Health nails are
smooth, without pits of grooves, and generally appear
to be a pale pink. While some changes are harmless,
others could be a sign of a disease, such as
melanoma, or an infection, such as a nail fungal
infection.
