TOPIC:
RLC CIRCUIT, PENDULUM
CONTEXT

 RLC Circuit
 Types of RLC circuit
 Examples of RLC circuit
 Pendulum
 Conclusion
RLC CIRCUIT
An RLC circuit is an electrical circuit consisting of
a resistor (R), an inductor (L), and a capacitor (C),
connected in series or in parallel.

KRICHHOFF’S LAWS:
VOLATAGE LAW:
THE VOLTAGE (EMF) IMPRESSED ON A CLOSED LOOP IS
EQUAL TO THE SUM OF VOLTAGE DROP ACROSS ALL THE
OTHER ELEMENTS OF THE LOOP.

CURRENT LAW:
AT ANY POINT OF A CIRCUIT, THE SUM OF FLOWING
CURRENT IS EQUAL TO THE SUM OF OUT FLOWING
CURRENT.
TYPES OF RLC CIRCUIT
There are two types of RLC circuit :-
(i) Series RLC Circuit
When a resistor, inductor and capacitor are connected
in series with the voltage supply, the circuit so formed is
called series RLC circuit.
(ii) Parallel RLC Circuit

In parallel RLC Circuit the resistor, inductor and capacitor

are connected in parallel across a voltage supply. The
applied voltage remains the same across all components
and the supply current gets divided.
EXAMPLE QUESTION

Find the charge q on the capacitor in an RLC circuit where

𝐿=0.25 H, 𝑅=10Ω, 𝐶=0.001 F. No external voltage is
applied on the circuit.

PENDULUM

A pendulum is a weight suspended from a pivot so that

it can swing freely. When a pendulum is displaced
sideways from its resting, equilibrium position, it is
subject to a restoring force due to gravity that will
accelerate it back toward the equilibrium position.
CONCLUSION

My project on RLC circuits and pendulum dynamics has

showcased the profound impact of integration and
differentiation in understanding complex systems. Integration
helped us unravel transient and steady-state behaviors in RLC
circuits, providing insights into damping, resonance, and
frequency responses crucial for electronic system design.
Likewise, differentiation techniques were instrumental in
modeling pendulum dynamics, predicting oscillatory
behavior and system stability.
This journey emphasized the symbiotic relationship between
mathematics and physics, illustrating how mathematical tools
enhance our comprehension of physical phenomena.
Presentation encapsulates these findings, emphasizing the
practical relevance of integration and differentiation in
solving real-world engineering challenges. This project has
deepened our appreciation for the interdisciplinary nature of
mathematics and its crucial role in advancing scientific
understanding and technological innovation.
