• Setting of the Study
• Subject of the Study
• Procedure of the Study
• Sources of data (Research Instrument)
• Validation of Research
• Data Gathering and Process
• Statistical Treatment
Research Methodology

A. Research Design
- is a plan to answer your research question.
Research method
- Is a strategy used to implement that plan.
- Research design and methods are different but closely related,
because good research design ensures that the data you obtain will
help you answer your research question more effectively.
Research Methodology

B. Setting of the Study – this is the location or locale of your study

C. Subject of the study – respondents of your study
Note: Setting and Subject of the Study are also known as Population and samples of
the study
- it is the process of taking a subset of subject that is representative of the entire
population. The sample must have sufficient size to warrant statistical analysis.
Research Methodology
D. Sources of Data (Research Instrument)
- are measurement tools, questionnaire checklist or designed to
obtain the data on a topic of interest from research subjects
Research Methodology
E. Validation of Research
- process used to confirm that the analytical procedure employed for an
specific test is suitable for its intended use. Results from method
validation can be used to judge the quality, reliability and consistency of
analytical results
Research Methodology
F. Data Gathering and Procedure
- Data collection is a process of gathering and measuring information on
variables of interest, in an established systematic fashion that enables one to
answer stated research, question, test hypotheses and evaluate outcomes
Research Methodology

G. Statistical Treatment
Is a summary of the procedure including the
statistical methods used.
