1. INTRODUCTION
This specification covers the minimum requirements of Diesel pump to be used for
the Primary and Secondary Cooling Water System area in the Flash Smelting
process.
The equipment shall be supplied as a complete functional and operational unit
incorporating all necessary auxiliary materials except as specifically excluded in
section 1.5 of this specification.
Note 1: If the supply deviates from this specification, complete technical and
economic arguments for the alternative solutions are to be stated.
Note 2: All SI-units of volume stated in this specification refer to the temperature
of 0C and the pressure of 101,325 kPa (NTP).
Note 3: All document references included in this specification refer to the latest
revision of the document in question.
2. SCOPE
Regarding this specification the Flash Smelting Furnace refractory lining consist of
but not be limited to the following items.
The equipment shall include at least, but not be limited to the following:
Complete pump
Coupling
Casing
Motor (internal combustion engine)
Motor starter
Bearing box, bearings and lubrication system
Base plate for pump and motor
Equipment position plate and machine plate
Mechanical seals
Instruments
Factory testing
Safety guards

Supplier shall provide Engineering and documentation that includes at least: design
drawings, Data Sheets, Technical sheets, Part and Component list, Pump Curve,
erection instructions, IOM-manuals, diagram of statistical and dynamic loads,
electrical and instrumention plans and other requested information.
All work and equipment required for a complete operating unit shall be included
except as specifically excluded below:
Foundation, support steelwork
Field erection and installation
Electrical wiring and controls, cabling, cable trays and conduits not integral to
the units
External piping
Supply of utilities
External fuel tank for Diesel
Anchor bolts
Design criteria for utilities and site conditions are presented in document Process
Design Criteria 302205_PSP01_PS01_PEC02_00001_OU100049388_R0.
The equipment will be installed indoors.
Special consideration shall be given to the industrial atmospheric corrosive
conditions of the site.
The equipment noise shall not exceed the design levels of 85 dBA, based on 8
hours time-weighted average exposures.

Diesel pump goes into operation in an emergency situation, when the power supply
is cut off.
Drawings:
All the supplier design and drawings shall be done in Spanish language, using
metric system and SI-units and projection shall be according to first angle
projection.
Mechanical desing, work and materials shall be in compliance to these main codes
and standards used for Diesel pump:
ANSI, ASME, ASTM, ISO, DIN and NEMA standards.

Diesel engine operated pump 5226-BOC-009 is for pumping cooling water from
cooling water storage tank to cooling system when electric power is not available.
Temperature max. 60 C
Pump is powered with diesel engine.

4. EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
Equipment shall be a complete unit including all the equipment with necessary
accessories listed earlier in section 1.2, ready to be erected on supporting steels
supplied by others.
Equipment shall be manufacturer's standard type ("heavy duty type"), modern and
reliable.
Equipment shall have lifting lugs for handling of subassemblies.
4.1. Mechanical
Diesel pump 5226-BOC-009 shall be equipped with a diesel engine drive with all
accessories.
Flanges
Pipe flanges and flange fittings according to ASME B 16.5:2009; NPS ½ Through
24, Class 150 if not otherwise agreed.
Rotating Parts
All shafts shall be adequately sized to prevent whip under load and shall be of such
stiffness that the first critical shaft speed is higher than the rotation speed of the
driver.
The shaft and coupling assemblies shall be dynamically balanced at the factory.
All moving parts shall be arranged to be readily accessible for inspection,
maintenance and repairs.
Removable safety protection shall be supplied for moving parts to avoid accidental
contact during operation.
Bearings
Bearings shall be provided with adequate cooling as required for proper operation.
Lubrication
All moving parts shall be provided with sufficient lubrication.
The parts that require periodic lubrication shall be provided with lubrication nipples,
which shall be easily accessible.
Sealing
The Supplier shall describe the sealing type.

The Seller shall recommend suitable materials of construction compatible with the
material being handled.
Welding shall be done either by metal-arc welding or corresponding welding
method.
The properties of filler metal have to correspond to the values of the basic material.
4.3. Electrical
All motors and other electrical equipment necessary for operation and control of the
equipment supplied shall be furnished. Requirements for motors and related items

The manufacturer is responsible for derating the motors correctly, Motors shall not
be derated by the buyer. For this derating the motor equipment plate shall indicate
the nominal power rating at site altitude.
All controls and instrumentation equipment (field instruments) necessary for opera-
tion and control of the equipment shall be furnished.
Fan bearings, motor bearings, and motor windings shall be provided with
temperature measurements. The instruments shall be factory-cabled to a
connection box.
Heavy conditions must be taken in consideration when selecting instrument
components.

All cleaning, painting or finishing will be done in full accordance with the latest
edition of SSPC standard and in accordance with standard practices of the supplier.
Supplier shall recommend if other painting options are their standard in use but
minimum requirements are specified in attached specification of horizontal
Centrifugal Pumps on Chapter 6.7 Painting and Finishing.
Insulated steel structures shall have transport protection.
Surface treatment and painting of standard components shall be according to
manufacturer’s standard practice.

All motors, drives, linings, lubrications etc. shall be trial assembled and shop tested
for operation. Seller is responsible to consult with the Client about the extent of the
trial assembly
Seller shall provide a description and prices of tests normally provided in the shop.
Also the standard pump tests shall be listed which manufacturer carries out without
additional price. If any additional tests required by the buyer those shall be
performed before the shipment.
Standard testing by the manufacturer or Seller shall include, but not be limited to the
following equipment:
Construction materials
Welded structures
Rotating and moving parts
Electric motors
