To promote camaraderie and
sportsmanship among students, the
Unilympics 2024 held from May 8-
10, provided a platform for athletes
to empower and showcase their
skills in different sport events.
Empowering the theme “Winning
as #OneUSM: Forging Unity and
Camaraderie through Sports,” the
University Sports Development
Program (USDP) brought together
the teams and individuals who
displayed exceptional skills,,
determination, and sportsmanship,
Bagani Warriors Secure Back-to-back
Golds in Dancesport Competition
From precise footwork to the
graceful turns, perfect posture, and
synchronized steps, 11 couples for
Modern Standard and another 11
Latin American categories from
five different units showcased their
expertise and artistry in dancing
during Unilympics 2024.
Exuding confidence and charisma
on the dance floor, both couples
from Unit 4 Bagani Warriors
secured the back-to-back gold in
the
dance sport compe-
tition for the
Latin American
and Modern
Standard
categories.
Featuring five mythical teams
battling for gold, Unit 1 Valiant
Bakunawas composed of CA, CEIT,
CTI; Unit 2 Azulan Claws – CED,
CBDEM, CMAHS, IMEAS, ULS;
Unit 3 Goldenback Wolves –
CHEFS, CASS, ISPEAR, CSM;
Unit 4 Bagani Warriors – KCC,
CVM, and Unit 5 Maroon Ravens –
PPALMA.
Meanwhile, Unit 3 Goldenback
Wolves claimed the title of overall
champion with a total of 1,210
points.
Couples of Warriors for
Latin category were
Cristy Ann Gutierrez
and Ray Alexander Enoc,
and Arjo Clint Exim and
Haidee Monleon for the
Modern Standard category.
Warriors also snatched the bronze
medal in the Latin American
Category.
Despite the Unit 3 Goldenback
Wolves' attempt to get the
spotlight from the Warriors, they
only got 2 silvers from both
Standard and Latin categories.
All competing couples executed
jaw-dropping performance on the
dance floor that left the
adjudicators on their toes in
deciding for the winner.
Their dominance in various sports
disciplines, such as baseball, futsal,
and frisbee, demonstrated their
versatility and strength as a team.
Unit 4 Bagani Warriors with a
total of 808 points secured second
place, and Unit 1 Valiant Bakunawa
with 678 points got the third place,
followed by Unit 2 Azulan Claws
with 541 points, and Unit 5 Maroon
Ravens with 379 points.
Members of Unit 3 cannot contain
their excitements as they howl for
their victory as “Goldenback
Wolves”, back-to-back champion.
Fleming Upsets Lavoisier
with Reverse Sweep
Delivering with firing serves,
powerful spikes, and towering
blocks, Fleming clears off the
Grade 9 Physical Education(PE)
Championship Game against
Lavoiser in a thrilling 3-set game,
20-25, 26-24, 15-10.
The PE 9 of University of
Laboratory Science held its
volleyball competition as their 3rd
quarter final examination. The 3
renowned scientists competed for
the highest grade, Fleming,
Lavoisier and Heisenberg.
The first set of the gold medal
match started slow with both
teams committed service and
reception errors. But with the
service precision of Lavoisier
during the end game, they are able
to take a 4-point lead and
eventually winning the first set,
25-20.
With the first set’s momentum,
Lavoisier’s attacking prowess
continued until the early pace of
the second set.

the event will serve as a reminder of
the power of sports to bring people

showcased the incredible athletic
abilities of its participants but also
highlighted the values of teamwork,
perseverance, and dedication that
are essential in sports and in life.

Unilympics 2024 will continue to
inspire future generations of athletes
to dream big, work hard, and strive
for excellence in all that they do.
Secures Victory Over UP in
UAAP Baseball Clash
In a display of defensive
dominance, National University
showcased their
baseball prowess
by overpowering
the University of the
Philippines with an 8-4
victory in the second round of
eliminations at the UAAP Season
86 men's baseball tournament.
Despite an early deficit of 0-2,
and trailing 2-3 after four innings,
the Bulldogs rallied back with
Kent Olazo scoring on a passed
ball and throwing error by UP's
catcher Eman Javier. Nigel Paule's
single and Joven Maulit's bunt
advanced runners, setting the stage
for Harold Tenorio's crucial
grounder that loaded the bases.
With a timely RBI double and
single, NU surged ahead 6-2 by the
bottom of the 6th inning.
Although UP managed to notch a
run in the 7th, NU widened their
lead to 8-4 by sending two more
runners home. Bulldogs' pitcher
Jerrick Timban, substituting for
MJ Carolino, closed out the game
flawlessly, retiring all four batters
he faced, including two strikeouts
in the top of the 9th, securing their
fifth win in eight games to join
Ateneo at the top of the standings.
