OBSERVING PARTICIPATORY CULTURE THROUGH MEDIA

ON PHOTO AND FILM EXHIBITION


(Balai Pemuda, Friday, May 17, 2024 18.00 pm-20.00 pm)

Soerabaia Merajoet Asa photo exhibition held in Balai Pemuda captures the diverse
visual of Surabaya from the 17th century to the present day, as well as the
documentary film Soera Ing Baja. It is an example of the representation of the city
from Surabaya Municipal Government. This exhibition is also initiated by certain
communities and other institutions, free, and open to the public.

AIMS Students are able to write their observations about photo exhibitions
and documentary films as an example of the practice of participatory
culture and representation of the city based on cultural studies
perspective.

What to do

1. Write an article (750-800 words, Cambrian font size 12 spaces 1.5) containing
several descriptions/answers to those questions below. You may improve/extend
your article to your interests and creativity, as long as relevant to the exhibition.
2. Choose one/two photos that you are interested in the most, and briefly describe
why did you interested. Upload to IG/FB with tag: #fibunair #edsaunair
