TOPIC: Most common electrical problems in vehicles, what can we do about
these problems?
OBJETIVES:
 I will use the verb to be to describe electrical problems in cars

 I will use vocabulary about electrical components of a car.

 I will take about the most common electrical problems in the car.

1. Identify the most common automotive electrical problems and what


you can do if you have these problems?
The most common electrical problems in automobiles include battery
discharge, spark plug connections, blow fuses, coil problems, software
problems and connector mishandling.

 Blow fuse: If any specific electrical system, such as the light sor audio
systems, stops working, it may indicate that a fuse has blows. Consult
your car manual to locate the fuse box and replace the faulty fuse. Fuses
can blow when there is a power surge. There are several causes for
theseincreases in electrical charge. Problems with the electricity supplier.
The solution is very easy, you just need to replace it.
 Dead battery: If your car won't start and you hear a faint noise when you
try to start it, the battery may be dead. You can try charging it with a
battery charger or give it a jump charge using jumper cables and another
car's battery.

 Faulty alternator: If the battery discharges quickly, even though you


have tried to change it, the alternator may not be properly charging the
battery while the car in running. You should go to a mechanical workshop
to have the alternator checked and if necessary replaced.
 Faulty wiring: If you experience intermittent electrical problems in
different systems of the car, such as lights or indicators, there could be a
problems in the wiring in this case, it is advisable to take the car to a
workshop to have the electrical system checked and repaired.

 Starter motor problema: If you turn the ignition key and there is no
noise or only a clicking noise, the starter motor may be faulty. In this
case you should call a tow truck or ask for professional help to solve the
problema.

 Software problems: In this case is important to stay up to date with the


latest software features, updates and periodically check for connectivity
issues.
2. Identify and describe the most common automotive electrical
problems and suggest what you can do if you have these problems.
Use the present simple, modals, technical vocabulary and should.

 Poor handling of the charging connector.


 Poor battery performance.
 Problems in the battery and charging system.
 Breakdowns in electronic components.
 Software and connectivity issues.
 Tire wear.
 Malfuction of the lighting system.
 The blow fuses.
 Defective alternator
 The spark plug connections.
CONCLUSIONS:
o I learned to use the verb to be to describe the most common electrical
problems in a car.

o I learned to use the vocabulary about electrical components for car


maintenance.
