Organizational Dynamics Assignment - 1

How are organizations integrating Sustainable development goals (SDGs) in business for
value creation? Illustrate with the help of suitable corporate examples.

In 2015, members of the United Nations adopted 17 goals to ensure a better and more
sustainable future by 2030. These goals are known as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
or Global Goals.

Issues like protecting aquatic life, poverty, and inequality are targeted through this step. All
the goals are interconnected therefore the fulfilment of one goal in some way depends on the
fulfilment of another goal.

For value creation, various approaches have been identified:

1) Innovation: Matching current sustainability efforts with relevant SDGs will help
identify the areas that need improvement thus calling for innovation in products &
services or business processes.

2) Stakeholders Interest : Companies are focusing on a purpose that can align with SDGs
and businesses, thereby creating value for stakeholders including customers,
employees, investors, and different communities.

3) Shift towards sustainability : The shifting towards sustainability and environment-

friendly products can leveraged by integrating SDGs with key business processes that
will help businesses create a loyal customer base and brand differentiation.

Let’s explore various SDGs and examples of how different corporations are integrating them
