POST ACTIVITY REPORT

The CCS Summit 2024 aims to achieve the following objectives:

The CCS Summit this year was held at the Rizal Recreation Center in
Nagcarlan, Laguna, from March 14-15 for the first batch. The two-day
event was filled with fun activities and seminars, and participants were able
to gain new insights into the field of technology.

On the first day, the student participants, composed of mostly first-year IT


and CS students, were gathered at the main gate entrance of the
university before heading to the avenue. After arriving at the venue, the
students lined up to do the registration. Following that, the program proper
started with an invocation and the singing of the National Anthem and LU
hymn. Then, Mr. Marlon Atanacio, Dean of the College of Computing
Studies (CCS), delivered his welcome remarks. Consequently, the Vice
President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) of Laguna University, Dr. Rosemarie
Sabado, delivered her message. Ms. Agnes Ycogo, the Assistant VP for
Administration at Laguna University, delivered a message from Dr. Monette
O. Bato, the OIC-President. Ms. Bea May Belarmino, a CCS faculty member,
Activity Highlight introduced the first speaker, Mr. Rhomnel Saguinsin.

Inc. His topic was “Chatbots using Natural Language Processing (NLP) with
REGEX." After the talk, Mr. Kurt Robin San Jose awarded the certificate of
recognition to Mr. Saguinsin. The event was hosted by Mr. Joshua Y. De
Lima. A photo opportunity was given at the booth set up by Digital Digest,
the official student publication of CCS. Following that, the organizers
announced a lunch break for the participants.

After the lunch break, Ms. Vea Marie Hernandez, facilitator of team-
building activities, gave instructions to the students. The team-building
activity started at 1 p.m. and finished at 4 p.m.

On the second day, breakfast was served from 7 to 8 a.m. Following that,
the program commenced with an invocation and welcome remarks from
the Dean of the College of Computing Studies (CCS), Mr. Marlon Atanacio.
The second speaker, Mr. Ronel J. Bilog, was introduced by Ms. Juvy Lyn
Leron, CCS Faculty. He is a Workforce Data Analyst at Foundever, Co., and

his topic was “Basics of Power BI: Pros and Cons." After the talk, Mr. Kurt San
Jose, CCS faculty, awarded Mr. Bilog a certificate of recognition for sharing
his expertise. After that, one of the CCS faculty and chair of the summit,
Ms. Patrecia Toledo, delivered her closing remarks. The summit then
concluded with a photo opportunity, and everyone packed up and
prepared to depart the venue.

The CCS Student Summit was a success for the first batch. The event
showcased the cooperation, strengths, and weaknesses of each student
in the team-building activities. They were also able to gain new knowledge
on topics during the seminar, such as Power BI and Chabot with NLP, which

are very relevant discussions in the field of technology. It was also evident
in the pictures that everyone had a great time at the event. Above all, the
summit provided an opportunity for the students to learn academically
and, at the same time, have fun.
