The American T-anflii*a* Cours* (ALC) is designed primarily for an


intensive language training program. However, - -\--- jnaterials can
also be used in nonintensive programs. The coursc will provide
students with a sufficient level of f luency and cornmanicative
proficiency in .American English to enable them to successfully pursue
technical or professional training in schools conducted by the
Department of Defense.

The General English Phase of the ALC consiste of aix progressive
