GOING TO SCHOOL NOTES – 1 MODERN MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION
Metro Trains: Metro trains are a mode of public
transportation found in urban areas that are built with the purpose of moving people from one place to another without worrying about traffic.
Maglev trains: Maglev is short form for “magnetic
levitation.” This train does not just run on wheels. Powerful magnets in the train and rails lift the train four inches into the air. These trains are famous to travel high speeds with less noise and vibration than traditional trains. There are only three countries in the world that currently have operational Maglev Trains: China, Japan, and Korea.
Hovercraft : It is a vehicle supported above the surface of
land or water by a cushion of air produced by fans blowing downward.
Ferry : A ferry is a ship that is used to carry
passengers, vehicles, or cargo across the water body. It works like a water taxi which stops at various points to carry or drop passengers from place to place. Submarine: A submarine is a large boat or ship that is designed to operate underwater while submerged in water bodies. It is mostly used for navy operations and war purposes, along with a periscope to view outside.
Space Shuttle: A spacecraft designed to
transport people and cargo between earth and space that can be used repeatedly.
Drones: A drone, also known
as an unmanned aerial vehicle, (UAV) is an aircraft without a pilot. Its flight is usually controlled in two ways; either by computers in the vehicle (auto pilot) or under the remote control of a pilot on the ground. They are used for many different purposes like search and rescue, delivery, security, photography etc.
