DISPLAYS IN A LETTER

• There are three displays that may be included in a letter. They are:
1.Table
2.Enumeration
3.Inset
LETTER WITH TABLE

• A table can be inserted in any layout of a letter. To insert a table:


1.Leave two (2) spaces after the text to insert the table.
2.Select the tab options from the insert tab on the ribbon and indicate the number of
columns and rows.
3.Type the data in the table and align appropriately.
4.Leave two (2) spaces after the table to continue text.
LETTER WITH ENUMERATION

• Enumeration means to itemize or list a number of items. A letter with enumeration


may be typed in any style or layout. Blocked, semi-blocked and indented.
• In the fully-blocked and semi-blocked letter, the enumeration is typed against the left
margin.
• In the indented letter, the enumeration is typed five (5) line spaces from the left
margin.
TO ENUMERATE AND ITEM

• Leave two (2) spaces after the last line of text.


• Type items to be listed without inserting the numbers.
• Block (highlight) the items to be enumerated.
• Select numbering option.
LETTER WITH AN INSET

• Insetting is a technique that is used to draw the readers attention to a inset text which
stands out from the rest.
• It can be used to draw attention to quotes extracts from other documents, and for
numbered or lettered listed items.
• It can be typed in any style of letter.
• It can be aligned to the left or right margin.
