Assignment Objectives:
The objective of Sustainable Energy Systems is to explore the environmental challenges
associated with energy production and consumption, focusing on carbon dioxide emissions, air
and water pollution, and land use. It aims to examine various energy sources and carriers,
including electricity, and their impact on sustainability. Additionally, the course aims to
introduce students to the applications of phase change materials for sustainable energy solutions.
Problem-solving techniques, metrics, and tools for assessing sustainability will be discussed,
along with the concept of sustainable infrastructure, including sustainable cities and buildings.
The course will also cover sustainable energy practices such as climate action planning and
sustainable transportation, including issues related to accessibility, mobility, and sustainable
stormwater management.
