Description and purpose of change:

To meet current market demands, Würth Elektronik will include new functionalities in its Bluetooth® module
Proteus-e (2612011024000). Following products will also be affected by this change:

- Proteus-e Evaluation kit: 2612019024001.

All products with date code 2024-02-29 or later, will be affected by this change. Würth Elektronik recommends
updating the firmware version of existing modules to version 1.1.0., as per instructions in the user manual.

The installed firmware version can be recalled from the last three digits of the lot number. Please check the
“Details of Change” section for further details.

For customer testing purposes, Würth Elektronik can provide the firmware images and the updated draft version
of the user manual one month in advance, i.e., 29th of January 2024.

In case a firmware freeze to the current version is required, please contact your local salesperson or our support
team at wcs@we-online.com
There will be no change in form, fit, quality or reliability of the product.

The new firmware will contain the following features that are disabled by default, please check the user manual
( Firmware history) for more details that would be released on 29th of January 2024 :
-Added option to modify the Bluetooth MAC address.
-Added new options for improved data transmission in transparent mode. The module supports advanced data
transmission triggers, like timeout, ETX and maximum payload size.
-Added option to request the maximum transmission unit (MTU) via remote command.
-Removed known issue KI-001.
Reliability / Qualification Summary:
Product approval is according to the specification criteria and is internally released by the Product Management
and Engineering departments.
