Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), also known as the Cordillera Region


is found in Luzon. The region was officially created on July 15, 1987. It has
six provinces namely: Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga and Mountain
Province and two cities which are Baguio City and Tabuk City. It covers most of
the Cordillera Mountain Range of Luzon and is a home to numerous ethnic
people.
Mount Pulag, the highest mountain in Luzon, is in the region. Rivers include
the Chico River, Abulog, and Siffu River. Tourist sites include Banaue Rice
Terraces, Cassamata Hill National Park, and Balbalasang-Balbalan National Park.

The Cordillera Region is the best and primary source of highland vegetables
such as lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, potatoes, cabbage, and other
greens. The region is also known for its aromatic coffees and strawberries. People
from the region are uniquely known for their dances, arts, and their skills in wood-
carving, basket-making, loom weaving, and ikat weaving. They make use of
these skills to earn a living.
