encapsulating profound meanings that span diverse facets of human existence. Serving as pivotal
elements in discourse, these fixed sayings address themes ranging from religion, family, and
marriage to education, health, friendship, and beyond, reflecting comprehensive spectrum of human
experiences, wisdom, and societal values. In consideration of the fundamental role that proverbs

play as integral and distinctive components of language, the imperative arises to effectively convey
the nuanced meaning of the original text into the target language. This necessitates nuanced
approach, employing either equivalent proverbs in the target language or alternative translation
methods. Proverbs typically encapsulate specific cultural and contextual meanings, posing
.challenges for non-native speakers who may not readily discern the intended message

As previously stated, despite the considerable body of research on proverb translation, a distinct gap
exists with notable absence of dedicated studies on the translation of food-related proverbs between
Persian and English. This study endeavors to identify and elucidate the factors contributing to the

similarities and dissimilarities in such translations. The insights derived from this research aim to
provide valuable groundwork for future scholars engaged in the cross-linguistic exploration of
