PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCY PROFILE

I am a PMP certified civil engineer, having nine years of experience in planning, civil site engineering, and
structural analysis and design, worked with major construction companies, supervised large infrastructure and
construction projects in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

As a civil site engineer I worked for Civil works company Ltd.(CWC) Saudi Arabia, I was
responsible for the execution of construction work as per approved design and plan.
Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) project, is considered the most complicated Construction Project
because of its complicated buildings and tanks structures. In addition to assigning work to
construction team, many requirements to be considered such as cost, schedule, health and safety,
quality, constructability and durability. Through this project, I achieved the following
accomplishments:

• Construction of various industrial type buildings for sewage treatment plant.
• Execution of pipe line network for sewage treatment plant.
• Construction of pump stations, manholes and chambers.

Being a site engineer I was the most responsible person at site after project manager, some of my major
responsibilities were follows:
Job Responsibilities:
• Establishes assignments for construction team, monitoring progress and recommending corrective actions as
necessary.
• Daily management, direction and supervision of project staff.
• Provide technical guidance to site construction staff.
• Daily coordination with project manager, foreman, surveyors and quality inspectors.
• Prepare request documents for Inspection and taking approval from consultant.
• Setting out, explaining and assigning tasks to surveyors, foremen, subcontractors.
• Handling site works and ensuring that activities are in compliance with contractual obligations and quality
standards.
• Drawing revision and quantity surveying.

As the nature of the project, any structural failure can lead to disastrous consequences, so proper
construction procedure and method statement must be followed. So my daily responsibilities
include the followings:

 Study Shop Drawings: before going to site, I read and review the relevant approved for
construction shop drawings. I check if the design drawings are executable at the site. if I
see any issue I would consult and coordinate with the project manager and design engineer
in our technical office.

 Check ITP & Method Statement: I refer to and read the inspection test plan (ITP) and
method statement to check construction procedures. I ensure the correct and safe method
is followed at site.
  Safety: when arriving to site the first thing I do is evaluating the safety concerns. I assess
and always ensure a safe access to construction site, I check for work at high risks and
ensure the fence height and toe board which are fixed properly.

In addition to that, the construction team working unsafely and placing themselves in a
hazardous work conditions to quickly complete the work. Whenever, I observe unsafe
conditions I stop work immediately. Unsafe work is not acceptable regardless the progress,
cost and schedule requirements. I always ensure the safe means and environment for work
without impacting the progress.

 Pre-Inspection I do a walk over the site to be inspected by consultant, I check the

formworks and all other works is going smoothly. I check for any challenges and
difficulties that could have impacted on the performance.

 Request for inspection(RFI): After the fulfillment of all comments given to my team then
I request the consultant for inspection officially so that the pre-concreting work could
approve.
.
 Rectifying Comments & Getting Final Approval: some of the time the consultant issues
some comments. After rectifying all those comments, I was visiting the consultant to get
final approval.

 Executing the approved Casting Plan: After getting the final approval from consultant I
was responsible to execute construction works as per concrete casting plan. I ensure all the
pumps boom can reach the concrete placing site and that a feasible concrete trucks traffic
management plan is in place.

 Concrete supply: I ensure my presence at the commencement of casting, I do regular

assessment and evaluation of the concrete supply flow. I do regularly coordinate with the
consultant’s site engineer and project manager to ensure a smooth execution of
construction plan.

Working as a site engineer with Civil works company ltd. (CWC) Saudi Arabia, I gained extensive
experience and understanding of construction work and procedure which made me able to execute
and manage any construction project.
