The ERRV Crew Daughter Craft Coxswain training is
designed for personnel that intend to work in the role
of Daughter Craft Coxswain aboard an Emergency
Response and Rescue Vessel (ERRV) and are already
existing FRC Coxswains. The ERRV Crew Daughter Craft
Coxswain Training course is designed to meet the initial
training requirements for the role of an ERRV Daughter
Craft Coxswain.
• 9088 RIGGER INITIAL TRAINING
Rigging operations involve the use of lifting equipment
to lift and transfer loads, often in restricted areas where
a crane cannot be sited. Rigging and lifting operations
are carried out by riggers and other disciplines
including operations technicians, deck crew and drill
crew. To ensure these operations can be carried out
safely, it is vital that operatives of lifting equipment and
accessories for lifting are aware of the safe and correct
use of equipment and the probable consequences if
safe and best practice is not followed.

ASSESSMENT & REASSESSMENT
The course is a competence-based assessment that
requires the candidates to complete a series of practical
exercises to demonstrate their skills, knowledge and
understanding of rigging and lifting operations.
• 9067 BANKSMAN & SLINGER
INITIAL TRAINING
This course combines initial training for banksman and
slinger roles in the oil and gas industry. The Banksman
Slinger Stage 1 course provides personnel, who have
little or no experience of the banksman and slinger
role, with the basic knowledge of activities associated
with the combined roles, and the safety and regulatory
requirements of those activities.
• 9068 BANKSMAN & SLINGER COMPETENCE
ASSESSMENT & REASSESSMENT
The course is designed to assess candidates on their
ability to bank a crane using hand and radio signals,
to carry out correct slinging of different types of loads,
and to demonstrate the ability to work safely with
cranes. The assessment is a mix of theoretical and
practical sessions, during which candidates will be
required to demonstrate their level of knowledge and
understanding.
• 9037 OFFSHORE CRANE OPERATOR
STAGE 3 & 4 COMPETENCE ASSESSMENT
The course is designed to assess candidates on their
ability to operate a crane and follow basic lifting plan as
per instructions. The assessment is a mix of theoretical
and practical sessions, during which candidates will be
required to demonstrate their level of knowledge and
understanding.
• 7052 LIFT PLANNING TRAINING
The course is designed for learners who are required
to participate and/or assist in the planning of lifting
operations and who have a recognized Offshore Lifting
and Hoisting qualification. The aim and objectives of
the OPITO Lift Planning Programme is to provide the
learner with theoretical and practical skills to plan
and organise the optimum resources needed to safely
plan lifting operations under the supervision of LOLER
Appointed Person/LOLER Focal Point, within their
workplace.

(COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT)
The course is designed for personnel who have been
recommended to take on the LCP role by their
sponsoring company and are required to be assessed
(or re-assessed) against the competence assessment
criteria in this standard. The aim and objectives of this
assessment are to establish that the candidate has
the required underpinning knowledge, understanding
and practical skills to undertake the role as a LOLER
Competent Person/ LOLER Focal Point at the workplace.
• 9044 WORKING AT HEIGHT ESSENTIALS
(COMBINED THEORY & PRACTICAL)
This course is designed to introduce delegates to
working at height, the associated regulations and
guidelines as well as hazards and practically to varying
equipment/PPE and the necessary practical skills
required for inspection and use of equipment and PPE
and safe ascent to and decent from a height.
• 9045 WORKING AT HEIGHT ESSENTIALS
(THEORY)
This training programme is designed for personnel
across the energy sector who require a theoretical
understanding and awareness of Working at Height,
associated hazards and guidance. The aim of the
Working at Height Essentials (Theory) standard is
to introduce delegates to working at height, the
associated regulations and guidelines as well as
hazards, varying equipment and PPE.
• 9046 WORKING AT HEIGHT ESSENTIALS
(PRACTICAL)
This training programme is designed for personnel
across the energy sector, with an existing theoretical
understanding and awareness of Working at Height,
associated hazards and guidance, who require the
corresponding practical skills necessary for working
at height.
• 9047 CONFINED SPACE AWARENESS
This course is designed to introduce delegates to
how confined spaces are defined and recognised,
the specific regulations and guidelines, hazards,
control measures, roles and responsibilities
and testing.
• 9048 CONFINED SPACE ENTRY
This training programme is designed for personnel
across the energy sector with an existing theoretical
understanding and awareness of confined spaces,
associated hazards and guidance and require the
corresponding practical skills necessary for entry
into a confined space.
• 9049 RESCUE FROM A CONFINED SPACE
This course is designed to provide delegates with the
relevant knowledge and skills to carry out a Rescue
from a Confined Space, whilst adhering to relevant
legislative guidelines and Safe Systems of Work.
Learners will also be instructed and assessed in the
use of appropriate PPE and equipment.
• 9240 AUTHORISED GAS TESTER
This programme is designed to meet the initial training
and knowledge assessment requirements for personnel
preparing to work as Authorised Gas Testers. Delegates
will also learn about relevant legislative requirements,
gas measuring and monitoring equipment and
documenting gas test results.
• 9241 GAS MONITOR TRAINING
This programme is designed to meet the initial
training and knowledge assessment requirements
for personnel preparing to work as Authorised Gas
Testers. This training programme also equips the
delegate with knowledge to conduct gas testing within
confined spaces and awareness of associated confined
space hazards.
• 9014 BASIC H2S TRAINING
The H2S training programme is for personnel that are
or could be, working in an environment that could
become contaminated by H2S gas. The aims and
objectives of the Basic H2S Training are to ensure
that the delegate gains the required knowledge and
understanding of the particular hazards and properties
of H2S, and appropriate emergency response actions to
take should an H2S related incident arise.

This course is designed for any person who is required
to drive on company business, is employed as a driver
(in the plant or on public roads) or is a local hire
driver under company responsibility. This training also
applies to personnel using a vehicle on behalf of a

do so safely and in line with relevant driving related
laws / regulations.

• NFPA 1001 FIREFIGHTER I
The International Firefighter 1 Development
programme provides a modularized Firefighter
Foundation Programme which will equip new
entrants to the Fire and Rescue Service, Civil Defense
or Oil and Gas Industry, with foundation knowledge,
skills and understanding to enable them to undergo
further on-station acquisition and application training
and development.
• NFPA 1001 FIREFIGHTER I
(BRIDGING COURSE)
This course has been created to recognize a firefighters
existing skills and knowledge and match them against
the current NFPA 1001 standards.
The Firefighter 1 Bridging Programme is an intensive
one-week course focusing on the fundamental skills
that learners require to safely attend operational
incidents. Those who successfully pass the programme
will receive NFPA 1001 FF1 accreditation.

• NFPA 1001 FIREFIGHTER II
Designed as a progression from Firefighter 1, this
course is for those who are ready to assume more of
a leadership role in a department. Learners will gain
knowledge of fire ground situations which will enable
them to make basic evaluations of safety problems and
assume a leadership role in carrying out interior attack
and search operations.
• NFPA 1081 INDUSTRIAL BRIGADE MEMBER
This course is designed to meet the objectives outlined
in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
1081 Standard for Industrial Fire Brigade Member
Professional Qualifications Chapters 5 and 7. This
course will provide your new brigade members, as
well as existing emergency response personnel with a
solid foundation of knowledge and skills that may be
used to safely resolve emergencies involving interior
and exterior fire at an industrial facility. All of this is
accomplished through a combination of classroom
presentations and field exercises.
• NFPA 1006 - ROPE RESCUE
AWARENESS (I)
Rope Rescue Awareness is an entry level course

by introducing them to basic Rope Rescue theory.
Awareness Certification is a one day course. This
program provides individuals training in accordance
with NFPA 1006 2017 Rope Rescue Awareness Level,

Rope Rescue Operations builds on Rope Rescue
Awareness and takes a novice rescuer and gives them
the skills needed to conduct challenging rescues

and the skill set needed to ascend and descend rope
safely and efficiently. Operations Certification is a three-
day program, but an additional day can be added to
include the Awareness Level. This program provides
individuals training in accordance with NFPA 1006

1670 2017 Rope Rescue Operations Level for groups
and teams. Completion of an Operations Certification

• BASIC FIRE FIGHTING
This course is designed to give a basic level of
understanding and competency in using basic
fire fighting equipment, in accordance with the
Occupational Health & Safety Act. The course has a
theoretical element as well as practical sessions using
fire extinguishers on live fires.
• FIRST AID AT WORK
This course that complies with the Health and Safety
(First Aid) Regulations 1981. Personnel are trained to
a standard where they can administer basic first aid
in the workplace until more qualified help arrives.
The course includes lectures, demonstrations and
practical exercises.
