Activity Guide and Evaluation Rubric - Unit 3 - Task 4 - Speaking Part of Cambridge C1 Advanced
1. Activity Description
Step 1 – Getting information in the course internal mail and the student’s
institutional email about schedules to participate in the mock of a Cambridge
C1 Advanced interview
Task 4 consists of your participation in a synchronic interview in couples via Teams to
demonstrate your ability to provide descriptions and discuss diverse topics. The
interview is similar to the speaking paper of the standardized test Cambridge C1
Advanced.
Go over the following reference in Unit 3 in the contents section in the Learning
Environment for you to understand the nature and dynamics of the Cambridge C1
Advanced test: Cambridge Assessment English (2023). Get ready to have a high
performance in each one of the four parts of the interview.
In the course internal mail and your institutional email, you will get from the course
director the guidelines and information to register for one of the available interview
1
sessions for a couple of students. The interview will be conducted by a student-
teacher.
The interview will have four parts: 1) Answer some personal questions; 2) Compare
and answer questions about some pictures; 3) Discuss viewpoints based on a piece of
visual input; and 4) Answer questions based on the topic of Part 3.
At the beginning of the interview take a screenshot and save it as part of the
evidence of Task 4 that you will deliver to the Evaluation environment. Avoid getting
the evidence of the activity in the middle of the interview; otherwise, your
concentration and performance might be affected.
Make sure you submit a PDF to the Evaluation environment containing the following
information about your interview:
1. The date on which the interview took place
2. The time at which the interview was conducted
3. The name of the student teacher who conducted the interview
4. Name of the other student who participated in the interview (if applicable)
5. A neat and clear screenshot of the interview that displays your name and the
interview date
6. A paragraph reflecting on your performance during the interview and what you
could do differently in a real interview

Please, bear in mind that if you miss any of the above items in your submission, the
document will not be graded or considered in the total score of the activity.
