Paper Catalog

Deleting Paper Catalog entries

The Paper Catalog option in the printer is still available even after you delete all Paper Catalog entries from
Command WorkStation.

Custom sizes in Paper Catalog

If you have a Paper Catalog in Command WorkStation that includes custom sizes, it does not appear in the catalog
on the printer.

Paper jam because of incorrect media size mapping

When you load paper in a tray and map it to a Paper Catalog entry, make sure that the paper size, orientation, and
weight match the actual entry. Otherwise, a paper jam may occur.

Custom paper catalog slow to appear

If you create a custom paper catalog on the EX/EX-i Print Server, it takes a long time to appear on the Xerox® Color
C60/C70 Printer. If you reboot the EX/EX-i Print Server, the custom paper catalog appears on the Xerox® Color
C60/C70 Printer.

Printing

Locked virtual printers can be edited

The default Print and Hold virtual printers show as being locked, but can be edited. If you want to make changes to
either the Print or Hold virtual printers, duplicate them and create a new virtual printer with a different name.

Tabs printed to GBC AdvancedPunch Pro

A tab job sent to the GBC AdvancedPunch Pro should print face-down only. While it is possible to select face-up
printing for such a job, the job is cancelled and does not print.

A5 LEF punch with Standard and Booklet finishers not supported

Although you are allowed to select A5 LEF punch with the Standard and Booklet finishers in printer driver
properties, this configuration is not supported. The job is cancelled and does not print.

A5 LEF/SEF Offset not supported with Standard and Booklet finishers

Although you are allowed to select LEF/SEF Offset with the Standard and Booklet finishers in printer driver
properties, this configuration is not supported. The job prints without error but does not offset.

Print options

Printing labels
With the print option Optimal quality for Special media, you can print differently textured media types more
efficiently.
Selecting this option also sets these options:

• Media type: Heavyweight2

• Media weight: 177-220 gsm
• Paper source: Tray 5 (bypass)
1 At the printer, set the appropriate media weight (for example, 177 gsm).

2 Load media into Tray 5 (bypass).

3 In the printer driver, select Optimal quality for Special media.

4 At the Conflict dialog box, click OK to accept the changes.

5 Print the job.

Scanning

2 sided (Rotate Side 2) does not rotate

In WebTools > Scan Settings, if you choose 2 sided (Rotate Side 2) for the 2 Sided Originals option, the second side is
not rotated.

Security

Security certificate
When you access WebTools or the Fiery Setup Wizard, a security certificate error occurs. A common security
certificate that works for all network environments cannot be installed on the EX/EX-i Print Server, which results in
the certificate error. This is expected behavior. You can safely continue and proceed with your work.

Stapling

Conflict between punching and stapling top and right

In the Finishing tab of Job Properties, if you select top or right stapling and then select punch, a conflict occurs,
disabling staple mode. You can work around this by selecting the top or right punch edge before selecting punch.

System

Accessing the printer control panel

If you do not see the Fiery icon or PrintMe icon on the printer control panel, or if you see the message "You don't
have permission to access /CommonLCD/page.html on this server," make sure that the network connections are
correct and then restart the EX-i Print Server. For more information, see Configuration and Setup.

Code "FF" after startup

When the EX-i Print Server is reinstalled and rebooted for the first time, the code "FF" appears on the LED display
for approximately 10 minutes before it reaches Idle. This does not indicate an error status. After the EX-i Print
Server reaches the Idle status, the code "00" is displayed.

Delay in printing start page

After you upgrade the EX-i Print Server to the current version of system software, there is a delay of approximately
15 minutes before the start page is printed.

Login window takes up full screen after installation

When the EX Print Server reboots after an installation, if you log in to the server before the connection is fully
established, the Command WorkStation login window appears in full-screen mode.
