Sub: - Special attention and Pre shopping report of 1400 HHP DEMU rake DPC no. 15905/05902 with 06
TC’s 10889, 10884, 10885, 10883, 10878, & 10886.

` The following special attention and extra repair works are required during POH of
1400 HHP DEMU rake DPC no. 15905/05902 with 06 TC’s 10889, 10884, 10885, 10883, 10878, & 10886.

Note: - Kindly do not start the DPC no. 05902 because traction alternator of 05902 is not aligned with
engine block.

The following special attention and extra repair works are required during POH of 1400 HHP DEMU rake
DPC no. 15905/05902 with 06 TC’s 10889, 10884, 10885, 10883, 10878, & 10886.

Special Attention works (Mechanical & Pneumatic).

1 In both DPC’s Kindly provide an additional water tank in radiator
room just like 1600 HHP DEMU DPC.
2 In both DPC’s Kindly check the condition of Hydraulic tank properly If
Hydraulic tank is old and corroded then kindly replaces it with new one.
Kindly check the leakage in tank properly and if leakage found, then
kindly repair or replace the Hydraulic tank with new one.
3 In both DPC’s Kindly check and rectify the oil leakage in Hydraulic oil
system.
4 In DPC no. 15905 Ventilation fan motor is deficient then kindly provide
new one.
5 In both DPC’s Fuel oil level gauge/ fuel oil level indicator is not
calibrated Kindly replace the Fuel oil level gauge/ fuel oil level indicator
with calibrated gauge/indicator.
6 In both DPC’s, Kindly overhauled the air compressor, brake controller
unit, air dryer and EP unit.
7 NOTE :Dia/TFR to be maintained/wheel profile to be maintained 29.4
 mm in all DPC and TC
8 Kindly provide air suspension rubbing plate In DPC no. 15905.
9 In both DPC’s, Radiator room should be sealed properly.
10 In both DPC’s, Engine room should be sealed properly.
In both DPC’s, Kindly overhaul the duplex check valve & leveling valve.
11 In both DPC’s, Kindly provide extra support in air compressor
foundation.
12 In both DPC’s, Kindly check the fuel tank, pipelines, NRV, fuel COC
and fuel valve of fuel tank properly if they are cracked/ damaged or fuel
is leaking then kindly replace it with new one.
13 In both DPC’s, parking brakes are not working, some parking brake
system components are deficient, kindly check the parking brake system
properly and kindly provide all the deficient components of parking
breaks and parking brakes should works properly.
14 In both DPC’s, Kindly check the cooling water system hose pipe elbow
and vent hose if they found deficient then kindly fit them.
15 In both DPC’s, Dead man COC is deficient, kindly fit the dead man
COC In both DPC’s.
16 In both DPC’s, and all 06 TC’s, kindly check the condition of all Air
reservoir tanks, if they get old and corroded then kindly replaces it with
new one.
17 In both DPC’s, and all 06 TC’s, Kindly check the condition of all
Pneumatic pipes and joints, if they gets old and corroded then kindly
replaces it with new one.
18 In both DPC’s, kindly replace the all Pneumatic pipes which are
connected to ABD valves. (Kindly provides Steel pipes).
19 In both DPC’s, Automatic blow down valve to be overhauled or replace
with new one and kindly modify the fitment of this valve. (This
Automatic blow down valve should be fitted in under slung with external
iron frame, in higher level from rail level. So that it will protect this
Automatic blow down valve from CRO). Kindly also provide iron safety
frame for ABD valves.
20 In both DPC’s & all 06 TC’s kindly check the condition of installation
lever if they are damaged or not working properly then kindly replace
with new one.
21 In both DPC’s & all 06 TC’s kindly check the condition of B.C. isolating
COC if they are not working properly kindly replace with new one.
Kindly provide B.C. isolating COC with vent type.
22 In both DPC’s, Guard emergency valve of is very hard to operate kindly
replace with new one.
23 In both DPC’s, Kindly check the condition of Compressor output
delivery pipe which is connected with after cooler, if it found defective
kindly fit this Compressor output delivery pipe In both DPC’s.
24 In both DPC’s, Kindly check the condition of horn system, all Pneumatic
valves and hose pipe of horn system should be overhauled & work
properly or kindly replace all Pneumatic valves and hose pipe of horn
system.
25 In both DPC’s and all 06 TC’s, Kindly check the condition of safety plate
for protection of air suspension leveling valve and balancing rod of air
suspension . Kindly ensure provision of safety plate for each air suspension
leveling valve and balancing rod.
 Special Attention works (Electrical).

1 Kindly do not start the DPC no. 05902 because traction alternator of
05902 is not aligned with engine block.
2 Traction alternator of 05902 is some time working and some time not
working. Kindly overhaul the traction alternator of DPC no. 05902 or
replace it with overhauled or new traction alternator.
3 24V and 110V batteries to be checked properly and replaced if required.
4 R R Unit to be overhauled and checked properly.
5 Speed recorder defective must be changed.
6 Levers and Limit Switches of TC to be replaced for ensuring proper
working of ACP System.
7 Both Side Male and Female Couplers to be attend for proper working.
8 All MU cables (A, B, C, D & E) to be attended. And damaged MU cables
must be changed.
9 ACP System must be ensured for proper working.
10 Lighting arrangement must be provide in Lavatory.

kindly pack the floor of radiator room & engine room so that water or oil
should not fall in under gear. And for water drainage kindly provide long
pipe in inside floor of radiator room.
2 In both DPC’s, Kindly provide Windscreen iron cage for the protection of
lookout glass. To avoid breakage of lookout glass during stone pelting.
( Iron cage dimension for DPC no. 15905 is about 50* 41 inches in 02
Nos.)
3 In both DPC’s, Kindly provide iron safety frame for compressor belt &
24V alternator belt.
4 Kindly fit the staircase In both DPC’s no. 15905. (01 staircase is deficient
due to CRO)

Note: -A-After Completion of POH work kindly provides POH reports/ check Sheet of above
mentioned DEMU rake. (Also provide the details of Changed items during POH with warranty
details.)

B- 03 no. of fire extinguishers are provided in both DPC’s, after MLR kindly provides the same.

C- Kindly follow the instructions for “Intermixing of solid forged wheels and cast wheels in
passenger coaches of Indian Railways.” With reference to RDSO letter no. MC/WA/Genldated
28.12.2021 and file no. RDSO-CARROVDG(WA)/1/2021-O/o ED/CARRIAGE/RDSO (Letter’s
copy is attached.)
D- Kindly follow the “RDSO Colour Coding of Air Brake Pipeline” (Letter’s copy is attached.)

Pre Shopping Report for 1400 HHP DEMU DPC no. 15905/05902 (Mechanical/ Ancillary). In
both DPC’s Kindly attends the following works.

1 In both DPC’s, All Wheel DIA and TFR Wheel profile & axle of the
wheels to be maintained as per RDSO. New Disc to be fitted in DEMU
DPC with Diameter 952 mm.
2 In both DPC’s, Kindly check the Water Expansion Tank properly If
water tank is old and corroded then kindly replaces it with new one.
Kindly check the leakage in tank properly and if leakage found, than
kindly repair or replace the water expansion tank with new one.
3 In both DPC’s, Kindly provide an additional water tank in radiator room
just like 1600 HHP DEMU DPC.
4 In both DPC’s, Kindly check the conditions of Water level Indicator if
found defective kindly replace with new one.
5 In both DPC’s, To avoid air lock inside water tank, kindly provide
modification for removal of air from water tank.
6 In both DPC’s, The cap of Water Expansion Tank should work properly
and water should not leak from tank or its cap, please check the water
leakage and if water is leaking from cap of water expansion tank then
kindly replace this cap with new one.
7 In both DPC’s, Kindly checks the condition of PRV of the water
expansion tank if it is not working properly then kindly replaces it with
new one.
8 Both DPC’s engine room should be insulated with Fire retardant
material.
9 In both DPC’s, Under gear all clearances should be maintained as per
RDSO Drawings In this DPC.
10 In both DPC’s, Kindly change the all-flexible vent hose of water
expansion tank.
11 In both DPC’s, Kindly change the all-flexible vent hose of hydraulic oil
system.
12 In both DPC’s, Car body filters must be changed with new Car body
filters.
13 In both DPC’s, Kindly check the all kind of gauges of each DPC and
kindly replace all defective gauges with new one. (Hydraulic oil pressure
gauge, lube oil pressure gauge, hydraulic oil temperature gauge, Lube oil
temperature gauge, water temperature gauge, fuel oil level indicator,
water level indicator, hydraulic oil level indicator, and other gauges.).
14 In both DPC’s, Kindly check the condition of lookout glass if required then
changes the lookout glass.
15 In both DPC’s, After changing the lookout glass kindly provide Windscreen
iron cage for the protection of lookout glass. To avoid breakage of lookout
glass during stone pelting.
16 In both DPC’s, Kindly provides the sun protection film in the lookout glass.
17 In both DPC’s, kindly repair the door of engine room near compressor.
18 In both DPC’s, kindly check the supporting frame of ventilation fans (both
side) if they are cracked or damaged kindly repair or replace with new one.
19 In both DPC’s, Fuel oil filter, lube oil filter, hydraulic oil filter & water
separators to be changed.
20 In both DPC’s, Engine Oil (Lube oil), Hydraulic Oil to be changed.
21 In both DPC’s, Check the water pump (complete set), Ventilation pump
(complete set) if defective then Kindly replace with new one.
22 In both DPC’s, All Radiator core to be removed & cleaned properly,
changed if necessary.
23 In both DPC’s, Radiator fan & Motor to be change. Check condition of fan
blades for bent & deformation. Perform dye penetration test on fan blades of
radiator. If cracks are observed, replace radiator fan blades.
24 In both DPC’s, Check the condition ventilation fan and motor, check the
condition of ventilation fan blades for bent & deformation. Perform dye
penetration test on fan blades ventilation. If cracks are observed, replace
ventilation fan blades.
25 In both DPC’s, Ventilation fan & Motor to be overhauled.
26 In both DPC’s, Kindly change the air intake filters.
27 In both DPC’s, check the condition of Exhaust manifold if it gets old and
corroded then kindly replaces it with new one.
28 In both DPC’s, Exhaust manifold thermal insulation must be done.
29 In both DPC’s, Hydraulic oil level gauge, Hydraulic temperature gauge &
Hydraulic oil pressure gauge of the DPC should be changed if they are not
working properly.
30 In both DPC’s, Lube oil pressure gauge & Lube oil temperature gauge of the
DPC should be changed if they are not working properly.
31 In both DPC’s, Kindly check the condition of Fuel lift pump, if it is not
working properly then kindly replace it with new one.
32 All Flexible hose pipes of the Engine room and radiator room should be
checked properly and changed if necessary In both DPC’s.
33 In both DPC’s, Both side wipers to be changed and fitted with a new one.
34 In both DPC’s, Both the shock observer (Vertical & Horizontal both) to be
changed.
35 In both DPC’s, Radiator room door locking arrangement to be provided. And
Radiator room should be sealed properly.
36 In both DPC’s, Proper lighting arrangement to be provided in Engine room &
Radiator room.
37 In both DPC’s, Cattle guard and rail guard to be repaired and maintain the
clearances.
38 In both DPC’s, Centre adjustment device of Schaku Coupler to be O/H or
changed if necessary
39 In both DPC’s, Overhauling of Schaku coupling to be done and greasing
point to be cleaned and overhauled.
40 In both DPC’s, Every Bush & Pin related to Bogie under gear required to be
changed.
41 In both DPC’s, Sole Bar from under gear to be checked for rusting, clean
properly and painting to be done. Anti-Rusting to be done.
42 In both DPC’s, Bogie Spring to be checked and fitted after proper grouping.
43 In both DPC’s, Chassis under engine Block to be cleaned & painted properly.
Anti-Rusting must be done.
44 In both DPC’s, kindly change the ‘window glasses of the driver cabin door.
(Both doors).
45 Kindly use fire retardant paint for painting inside engine room of both DPC.
46 In both DPC’s, Interior & exterior painting of DPC to be done (including
Wind screen iron cage.).
47 In both DPC’s, Kindly repair the electrical control panel and make sure it
 should be locked properly.
48 In both DPC’s, kindly check the locking arrangement in Driver’s cab
room and kindly ensure all doors of cab room should be locked properly
form inside and outside.
49 All door & window repairing attention to be done In both DPC. All door and
windows should work properly.
50 All the window glasses to be checked and defective one must be replaced both
in Passenger compartment and driver’s cab room In both DPC.
51 Passenger side floor PVC sheet to be changed In both DPC.
52 All the passenger seats to be fitted properly with foam and resin In both DPC.
53 Kindly change the head code glass In both DPC.
In above mentioned both DPC’s kindly Check the condition of following BOGIE items.
Overhaul & replace, if necessary.

Bolster spring (outer & inner), Bolster rubbing plate, equalizing stay, Dashpot
guide, Guide bushes, Brake cylinder, (Test it on test bench), Brake cylinder
hoses (Must be replaced), Parking brake system, (Test it), Steel pipes fitted to
bogie brake system, Nose pad sheet, Centre pivot housing, Side bearer pocket,
Shock absorber, (Test it on test bench.), Bogie bolster assembly.

Schaku coupler, Screw coupling, Buffer assembly with bolts & split pins,

Pre Shopping Report for 1400 HHP DEMU DPC no. 15905/05902
(Pneumatic). In both DPC kindly attends the following works.
57 In both DPC’s, BP and MR Cut out angle COC are in jammed conditions.
Kindly changed these.
58 In both DPC’s, Kindly check all bogies isolating COC and replace all
defective COC.
59 In both DPC’s, kindly paint all Pneumatic pipe line and air reservoir tanks as
per RDSO guideline and paint the nomenclature to the COC like “B.C.
ISOLATING COC, AIR SUSPENSION ISOLATING COC, E.P.
ISOLATING COC, QUICK REALISE COC.PARKING BRAKE ISOLA-
TING COC, DEADMAN ISOLATING COC, etc for easy rectification of
trouble in section. (Letter’s copy is attached.)
60 In both DPC’s, Air Drier to be overhauled & element of Dominic hunter filter
to be changed.
61 In both DPC’s, Air compressor to be overhauled.
62 In both DPC’s, air suction filter of Air compressor should be changed.
63 In both DPC’s, Kindly overhaul the after cooler of the air compressor.
64 In both DPC’s, Kindly Check the condition of Air compressor V Belt, if
defective then Kindly replace with new one.
65 In both DPC’s, Kindly check the conditions of inter cooler of compressor and
safety valve of this inter cooler, if it is not working properly then kindly
replace it.
66 In both DPC’s, EP Unit & EP brake controller Should be overhauled
completely in every POH/MLR.
67 In both DPC’s, Parking brakes are not working properly, to be checked &
 rectified.
68 In both DPC’s, kindly replace the all Pneumatic pipes which are connected to
ABD valves. (Kindly provides Steel pipes).
69 In both DPC’s, Automatic blow down valve to be overhauled or replace with
new one and kindly modify the fitment of this valve. (This Automatic blow

76 In both DPC’s, All Flexible pipes of Air Suspension, BMBC pipe, MR pipe
and BP pipe must be changed.
77 In both DPC’s, Kindly provide the rest U clamp for MR pipe and BP pipe.
78 In both DPC’s, Dead man valve is deficient kindly replace with new one.
79 In both DPC’s, Guard emergency brake valve to be overhauled and to be
changed if required.
80 In both DPC’s, All leveling valves and Equalizing Valves to be overhauled
and to be changed if required.
81 In both DPC’s, Kindly calibrate/overhaul all the Pneumatic gauges fitted in
this DPC.
82 In both DPC’s, ‘J’ filter to be overhauled or replace with new one.
83 In both DPC’s, Kindly Check all the air reservoir tanks, if air reservoir tanks
are corroded, kindly replace all air reservoir tanks with new one.
84 In both DPC’s, Kindly replace the all PU pipes of horn & wiper.
85 In both DPC’s, Kindly replace the B.C. isolating COC with vent.
86 In both DPC’s, Kindly check & tight the foundation bolts of EP Unit. If they
are deficient kindly provide them.
87 In both DPC’s, Kindly overhaul the quick release valve lever and kindly
change its wire rope.
88 In both DPC’s, Kindly check the safety plate for protection of air suspension
leveling valve and balancing rod of air suspension and kindly ensure provision
of safety plate on each air suspension leveling valve and balancing rod.
89 In both DPC’s, MR and BP combined dual gauge to be changed.
90 In both DPC’s, Break valves – all brake valves should be checked and
overhauled if necessary, except ‘C 2 relay valves’, ’Distributor valve’, ’Feed
valve’.
91 In both DPC’s, ‘Modular Brake controller’ to be overhauled.
92 In both DPC’s, All CDC Dirt collectors, all T-Strainer, all NRV, all
BC/BP/MR isolating cock/drain COC and all J-filters to be overhauled.
Maximum COC’s are very tight to operate. Kindly attend this.
93 In both DPC’s, Kindly do not change the application and holding coil magnet
valve of EP unit if these are Rotex made. Only overhaul these. If you are
changing these then kindly return the uncouple application and holding coil
magnet valve of Rotex make.
In above mentioned both DPC kindly Overhaul & test following valves on test bench. Replace, if
necessary.
94 COMPRESSOR - Dismantle and overhaul, replace worn out parts, replace
all ‘O’ rings, gaskets, oil seals, change inlet air filter element, Crank shaft with
bearing, Piston LP & HP, Liner LP & HP Bearings, Intercooler, after cooler,
Safety valve, loader & un loader valve, breather valve assembly, cylinder head
of HP & LP and it’s valve, crank case lubricating oil, Replace V-belt.
Test it on test bench after assembly
95 Brake valves: Dismantle and overhaul all brake valves, (C2 Relay Valve,
AD Valve, Safety Valve, Distributor valve, Feed valve, N-1 reducing valve/
add PRV, Guard’s emergency valve, Pressure limit valve, NRV, dead man
valve, ) replace all ‘O’ rings seals and gaskets, Assemble and test to evaluate
their performance.
96 Pneumatic equipment--- Hand brake provision, Inter cooler, All dirt
collector’s element, all ‘J’ filters, Slack adjuster, Horns, Wiper motor, Wiper
arm & blade, Feed pipe, Brake pipe, Parking brake, Air dryer, all isolating
cock.
Pre Shopping Report of 1400 HHP DEMU TC’s, TC no. 10889, 10884, 10885, 10883, 10878, &
10886.(Mechanical/Ancillary/Pneumatic).
97 In all TC’s, All Wheel DIA and TFR Wheel profile to be maintained as per
RDSO. New Disc to be fitted in DEMU TC with Diameter 915 mm.
98 In all TC’s, Under gear all clearances to be maintained as per RDSO Drg.
99 In all TC’s, Centre adjustment device of Schaku Coupler to be O/H or
changed if necessary.
100 In all TC’s, Overhauling of Schaku coupling to be done and greasing point to
be cleaned and overhauled.
101 In all TC’s, Axle Box Spring upper & lower rubber washer to be changed.
102 In all TC’s, Vertical shock absorber of both bogies to be checked or changed
if required.
103 In all TC’s, Every Bush & Pin related to Bogie under gear required to be
changed.
104 In E.P. unit of all TC’s kindly check the position of “J filter of M.R. & B.P. ”
if it is in downward direction then kindly changed it’s position to Upward
directions.
105 In all TC’s, E.P. Unit to be checked and overhauled.
106 In all TC’s, kindly check the condition of all Air reservoir tanks, if they
get old and corroded then kindly replaces it with new one.
107 In all TC’s, kindly check the condition of all pneumatic hose pipe & joints,
if they get old and corroded then kindly replaces it with new one.
108 In all TC’s, All leveling valves and Equalizing Valves to be overhauled and to
be changed if required.
109 In all TC’s, All Flexible pipes of Air Suspension, BMBC pipe, MR pipe and
BP pipe must be changed.
110 In all TC’s BP and MR Cut out angle COC are in jammed conditions. Kindly
changed these.
111 In all TC’s, Kindly do not change the application and holding coil magnet
valve of EP unit if these are Rotex made. Only overhaul these. If you are
changing these then kindly return the uncouple application and holding coil
magnet valve of Rotex make.
112 In all TC’s, kindly paint all Pneumatic pipe line and air reservoir tanks as per
RDSO guideline and paint the nomenclature to the COC like “B.C.
ISOLATING COC, AIR SUSPENSION ISOLATING COC, E.P.
ISOLATING COC, QUICK REALISE COC, etc for easy rectification of
trouble in section. (Letter’s copy is attached.)
113 In all TC’s, Kindly check all the Pneumatic gauges of each TC’s. Replace, if
necessary.
114 In all TC’s, Kindly Overhaul & test all pneumatic & electro pneumatic valves
on test bench. Replace, if necessary.
115 In all TC’s, Locking arrangement of TC doors to be done.
116 In all TC’s, Kindly fit all damaged or missing door lock in each TC.
117 In all TC’s, Maximum TC window glass and sliding mechanism are defective
and missing; this must be checked and replaced with new. Especially in TC
no. 10884, 10886, & 10885.
118 In all TC’s, All the passenger seats to be fitted with foam and resin. Especially
seat cover of TC no. 10884 & TC no. 10883 are damaged, kindly replace this.
119 In all TC’s, Sliding doors of TC are in jammed condition and the locking
arrangement (Tower Bolt) from inside needs to be repaired. Especially in TC
no.
120 In all TC’s, All missing, loosen and defective chairs must be changed.
121 In all TC’s, Kindly Paint and finish the TC before dispatch.
122 In all TC’s, Kindly check & repair shutter roller in all TC’s Especially in TC
no.
123 In all TC’s, Kindly check & repair of foundation of all seats in all TC’s
Especially in TC no. few seats foundations needs welding.
124 In all TC’s, Kindly check & repair of door lock plate in all TC’s. Especially in
TC no..
125 In all TC’s, All the window glasses to be checked and defective one must be
replaced in all TC’s. Especially in TC no. 10878, 10885, 10884, & 10886.
126 In all Lavatories, kindly checks the condition of Lavatory overhead water
tank, if there is leakage then kindly attend or replace this Lavatory overhead
water tank.
127 In all Lavatories, kindly checks the condition of Bio toilet system including
bio toilet bacteria. Kindly attend all the irregularities of Bio toilet system. Bio
toilet system should work properly.

7 Light/Fan Contactor, Excitation, EP Contactor to be attended.
8 All MCB’s to be changed. New MCB’s must be fitted.
9 Wiring of Control circuit to be covered with proper conduit pipes.
10 Lights and Fans of Cab room, Engine Room and Radiator Room to be
attended for proper working. Movable fan to be provided on LP and Guard
side in cab room.
11 Working of Alarm Bell and Signal Bell to be ensured for proper working.
12 Check Drive and Guard spot lights of the DPC’s for proper working.
13 Water Temperature Gauge, Lube Oil Temperature Gauge of Panel Instrument
in Engine Room to be ensured for proper working.
14 Ensure the proper working of all safety devices.
15 Hot Engine test and setting of HWT1and HWT2 must be attended.
16 Roof of Cab room to be secured from leakage of rain water.
17 Lever and Limit Switches of ACP Systems must be attended. ACP resetting
wire rope to be provided.
18 Positive (+ve) ground must be removed from light(-ive) fan and control
circuit.
19 Both sides MU Male/Female Coupler to be ensured from water leakage.
20 Cables of batteries, Starters and Power Circuits to be secured by insulated
conduit pipes to avoid rubbing and short circuits.
21 Contact Tips of Reverser and E.P. Contactor to be attended.
22 Cover of Rectifier Box Assembly to be modified properly for stopping
leakage of rain water.
23 Motor over Load Relay must be attended and overhauling to be done.
24 E.P. Brake Unit to be ensured for proper working. Application and Holding
Coils of E.P unit to be checked properly.
25 All rubber suspension pad of traction motors to be change if required.
26 Air dryer of DPC to be overhauled or replaced with new. It is a safety item.
27 Reverser and Line contactor complete overhauling to be done.
28 All MU cables A, B, C, D, and E to be attended. And damaged MU cables
must be changed.
29 All switches, Push – buttons to be attended.
30 Rectifier blower motor must be change
31 All rubber suspension pad and suspension bearing of traction motors to be
change.
32 Head light, spot light, flasher light and tail lamp must be checked for proper
working.
33 Auxiliary generator alignment and belt to be damaged.
34 Apply insulation/spacers at all locations where cables are rubbing each other
and with locomotive body.
35 TM1, TM2, TM3, TM4 inlet Air Filters to be changed.
36 Overhaul or Change the following equipments if needed.
1. Starter Motor.
2. 24 V Alternator.
3. Oil safety control (OPS).
4. Rectifier blower and blower motor.
5. Both Temperature Sensor (T1 & T2)
