Bus Mishap Kills 2

Mirzapur, Dec.20 : At least two persons, both aged between 30 and 35, were killed and seven others
injured when a bus hit a lorry head-on here this afternoon around 3.00 pm according to eye witnesses,
the bus was on breakneck speed and hurtling towards its destination. Soon after the accident, the air
was rent with the scream of victims. The locals rushed to the site and swung into rescue operation. Two
young men who were among those hospitalized were declared both dead. Those with minor injuries
were let off after first aid. A large contingent of policeman reached the site and cordoned off the area.
According to police report, the driver of the ill-fated bus was arrested and the vehicle was towed to the
police station. The chief Minister announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2lakhs to the next of kin of those dead,
the sources reveled.
