The opinions of the vehicle owners within Cabuyao City on the prototype’s quality
were determined in terms of:

4.1 materials used in the prototype

The majority of the vehicle owners in Cabuyao City, specifically 17 out of the 30
respondents in different barangays, were highly satisfied with the materials used in the
prototype. They believe that the researchers selected the most efficient and appropriate
materials possible to create the exhaust pipe filter. Meanwhile, 11 respondents
answered satisfied about the materials while only two remained neutral, garnering a
weighted mean of 4.50, which when interpreted, would result in a highly satisfied
remark.

4.2. Structure of the prototype

The majority of the respondents were highly satisfied with the structure of the
prototype. They are pleased with the composition and arrangement of the different
things making up the prototype, like the aluminum screen, metal clamp, and its covers.
They can see that the researchers considered a lot of conditions that would affect it,
such as extreme heat, pressure of the smoke, and so on. Meanwhile, 11 respondents
also answered satisfied about the structure while only two remained neutral, garnering a
weighted mean of 4.50, which when interpreted, would result in a highly satisfied
remark.

4.3 Prototype’s appearance

The number of respondents who answered, "highly satisfied" and "satisfied"

about the appearance of the prototype is equal, with 14 respondents. They consider its
design good and simplistic since the metal tube is luster and glossy, with an orange
cover on both end of it. Meanwhile, one respondent answered neutral and two
responded unsatisfied because it needs improvement in color and design to be more
suitable in the styles of their vehicles. Overall, a weighted average of 4.37 were
computed from the responses, which can be interpreted in the scale as highly satisfied.

4.4 Prototype’s ease of usage

The majority of the responses on the prototype’s ease of usage are highly
satisfied, accumulating 20 respondents. They are convinced that the prototype can be
easily attached on the exhaust pipe of their vehicles since they will just have to insert it
and tighten the metal clamp using screwdriver. Meanwhile nine of the respondents
answered satisfied while the remaining one respondent answered neutral. All in all, its
weighted mean is 4.63, which can be interpreted as highly satisfied.
 5. Durability

The opinions of the vehicle owners within Cabuyao City on the prototype’s durability
were determined in terms of:

5.1 Toughness of the Materials used in the prototype

The majority of the vehicle owners in Cabuyao City, specifically 18 out of the 30
respondents in different barangays, were highly satisfied with the toughness of the
materials used in the prototype. They are certain that the materials are durable and can
last a long time since they are made out of stainless steel. Meanwhile, nine respondents
answered satisfied, two answered neutral and one answered unsatisfied, garnering a
weighted mean of 4.47, which when interpreted, would result in a highly satisfied
remark.

5.2. State of the prototype after the drop test

The majority of the respondents were highly satisfied with the status of the
prototype after the drop test. They were surprised that the prototype was still intact after
dropping it at a maximum height of 50 inches. Meanwhile, eight respondents also
answered satisfied about the prototype status while only four remained neutral,
garnering a weighted mean of 4.47, which when interpreted, would result in a highly
satisfied remark.

5.3. State of the prototype after the air quality tests

A total of 16 out of 30 respondents were highly satisfied with the state of the
prototype after the air quality tests. They saw on the video that the prototype is still in
proper status; there’s no tear, dent, or cape in the aluminum pipe, and the metal clamp
is still functioning. Meanwhile, 11 respondents answered satisfied about the state of the
prototype while only three remained neutral, garnering a weighted mean of 4.43, which
when interpreted, would result in a highly satisfied remark.

5.4 Number of usages of the prototype

The majority of the responses to the number of prototype usages are extremely
satisfied, with 13 respondents. After the test was done with a motorcycle, car, and
jeepney, the respondents noticed that the prototype could still function at its peak. They
saw that it could be used multiple times on different kinds of vehicles. That’s why they
are convinced that it has a high reusability value. Meanwhile, 12 of the respondents
answered satisfied, 4 remained neutral, and one answered unsatisfied. All in all, its
weighted mean is 4.23, which can be interpreted as highly satisfied.
 6. Functionality

The opinions of the vehicle owners within Cabuyao City on the prototype’s
functionality were determined in terms of:

6.1 Prototype's ability to filter carbon dioxide (CO2)

The number of respondents who answered "highly satisfied" and "satisfied" about
the prototype's ability to filter carbon dioxide (CO 2) is equal, with 14 respondents. Based
on the video experimentation and the observation sheet that they saw, they believed
that the Water Hyacinth Activated Charcoal (WHAC) has the ability to decrease the
carbon dioxide content of the fumes coming out of the vehicles. Meanwhile, only two
respondents answered neutral, garnering a weighted mean of 4.40, which when
interpreted, would result in a highly satisfied remark.

6.2 Prototype's ability to filter formaldehyde (CH2O)

The majority of the respondents were satisfied with the prototype's ability to filter
formaldehyde (CH2O), accumulating 17 responses. According to the video
experimentation and the observation sheet that was flashed on the screen, they
concluded that the Water Hyacinth Activated Charcoal (WHAC) has the ability to
decrease the formaldehyde content of the fumes coming out of the vehicles. Meanwhile,
12 respondents answered highly satisfied about the prototype’s ability while only one
remained neutral, garnering a weighted mean of 4.37, which when interpreted, would
result in a highly satisfied remark.

6.3 Prototype's ability to filter the total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs)

A total of 15 out of 30 respondents were highly satisfied with the prototype's ability to
filter the total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs). In accordance with the video
experimentation and the observation sheet on the video, they believed that the Water
Hyacinth Activated Charcoal (WHAC) has the ability to decrease total volatile organic
compounds in the fumes coming out of the vehicles. Meanwhile, 14 respondents
answered satisfied and only one responded neutral. Overall, a weighted average of 4.47
was computed from the responses, which can be interpreted on the scale as highly
satisfied.

6.4 Range of vehicles in which the prototype can be used

The majority of the respondents were satisfied with the range of vehicles in which
the prototype could be used, accumulating 15 respondents. As per the video
experimentation and the observation sheet that the respondents watched, they are
convinced that the Water Hyacinth Activated Charcoal (WHAC) exhaust pipe filter is
flexible and versatile since it can be used in different types of vehicles such as
motorcycles, jeepneys, and cars. Meanwhile, 13 of the respondents answered satisfied,
one remained neutral, and one answered unsatisfied. All in all, its weighted mean is
4.40, which can be interpreted as highly satisfied.
