DEFINATION:-
Sometimes we had an experience of miscommunication i.e.
there does not exist a perfect communication.
Miscommunication can occur at three levels:-

:- At the level of sender

:- At the level of medium
:- At the level of receiver

So anything that obstructs the flow of communication is

known as barrier to communication

It is the influence of psychological state of the sender and receiver

which create a problem for the effective communication

Lack of attention
Poor retention
Premature Evaluation
Closed mind and filtering
Distrust
 PHYSICAL BARRIER

It includes the environmental and natural condition which act as a

barrier in communication

Causes:-

Noise
Environment
Time and Distance
Information overflow
 PHYSIOLOGICAL BARRIER

It occurs due to the physical condition of the sender and receiver

Causes:-

Hearing Impairment
Vision Impairment
Speech Disorder
Physical Condition
Alertness
 LANGUAGE BARRIER

Communication becomes difficult in situation where peoples ddo not

understand each others language

Causes:-

Regional Ascents and Dialects,

Use of jargons,
Difference In language
and unclear speech,
Grammar and Spelling .
 CULTURE BARRIER

People belonging to different culture have different mindset, language,

sign, symbols etc. when they communicate, these factors can become
barriers

Language
Sign and Symbols
Religion
Eye Contact
Touch
 EMOTIONAL BARRIER

It includes emotions like fear, worry, anger, excitement

etc. which effect speaker ability to deliver a clear
message or a receiver ability to hear a message
 INTERPERSONAL BARRIER

It include the problems which keep us from reaching out to each other
and opening ourselves to other
Most difficult barrier to overcome
