Concept Note
Regarding AIE- The Army Institute of Education aims to provide teacher training and
educational excellence with a focus on holistic development and well-being. Internal Quality
Assurance Cell (IQAC) of AIE in collaboration with Sanskriti University, Mathura, is organizing
One Week Student Faculty Development Programme on the topic ‘Indigenous Knowledge
System for Physical, Social and Emotional Well Being’ from 02 to 08 May 2024.This
Student-Faculty Development Programme is designed to explore various aspects of
indigenous knowledge systems and their application in modern educational and therapeutic
contexts.
Regarding SOE, SU- The School of Education was established in 2016 as a part of the
Sanskriti University, Mathura (U.P.) to render teaching, research and community services in
professional manner. It runs various educational programmes such as Integrated B.A.B.Ed.,
Integrated B.Sc.B.Ed., B.El.Ed., B.Ed., M.Ed. and Ph. D. to train professionals in teaching.
The school has well equipped modern laboratories, computerized library, and classrooms with
modern facilities. Interactive teaching methodology by the highly qualified and proficient
faculty makes the school first choice for the students.
Relevance of the Theme
The Student-Faculty Development Programme aims to provide a platform for learning,
discussion, and application of indigenous knowledge systems. By integrating traditional
Indian practices into modern contexts, the programme will contribute to the holistic well-being
of participants and advance educational excellence to the participants. Conducting such
programmes has significant relevance and value, particularly within the context of schools
and teacher training institutes.
Objectives:
 To introduce students and faculty members to indigenous knowledge systems and their
benefits for holistic well-being.
 To facilitate a dialogue between traditional practices and modern approaches for better
health and wellness.
 To provide practical insights and techniques that can be implemented in daily life for
improved mental and emotional health.
 To foster an appreciation for the rich cultural heritage and wisdom of ancient Indian
traditions.
 To explore the relevance of these systems in contemporary settings, particularly in
education, therapy, and personal development.
Target Audience:
 Students and faculty members of teacher training Institutes and faculty from schools.
 Education professionals and therapists interested in incorporating indigenous
knowledge systems into their practices
 Anyone interested in exploring the intersection of traditional Indian practices and
modern wellness techniques

Expected Learning Outcomes:


 Enhanced understanding of indigenous knowledge systems and their applications.
 Improved stress management and emotional well-being through traditional practices.
 Development of new teaching methods and approaches for incorporating indigenous
