Fewer young people do farming work in rural areas. Why?

Should young
people be encouraged to do farming work?

There has been a noticeable decline in the number of youngsters engaging in farming activities in
recent years. From my point of view, a variety of reasons could be identified and in my opinion, this
trend can have a negative impact on the whole world and young people should be encouraged to
pursue agricultural work.
To begin with, there are several reasons leading to this phenomenon , . The first of which one is
education. In fact, some lessons at school, either deliberately or accidentally/ either intentionally or
unintentionally., lead to a common misperception that farming is a ordinary run-of-the-mill and dull
job, which is not suitable for their elevated educational background. For example, in lots of old stories
that are added in the Vietnamese curriculum, farmers are often associated with poverty, hardship and
oppression, which may set an erroneous mindset for young people. Second, it is apparent that in many
regions in the world, farmers often have unstable incomes as their jobs can be adversely impacted by
natural catastrophe and extreme weather conditions. To be more specific, farmers in disaster-stricken
areas often struggle to make ends meet and have to suffer from hostile working conditions. On the
other hand, factory-based jobs seem to be more appealing to youngsters as they offer young
employees with more lucrative incomes and decent working environments. Thus, young people
become less likely to follow/pursue agricultural careers.
In my opinion, youngsters should be encouraged to work in the agricultural industry for many
reasons/ , encouraging youngsters to work in the agricultural industry holds numerous benefits. First,
it is undeniable that food is one of the fundamental bare necessities of people. Hence, a lack/ shortage
of personnel may probably result in the deficiency in food supply, which will not only detrimentally
impact on the well-being of people but also spark an economic setback due to the inadequacy of a
healthy and enthusiastic workforce. Second, as young people are often proficient in technology, it
would be easier for them to utilize state-of-the-art machines in order to facilitate the process of
farming and enhance their working productivity. Therefore, they not only can not only provide the
market with well-grown products but also earn a sizable amount of money. For instance, farmers in
the USA who are able to leverage make use of cutting-edge technology can provide employment and
sufficient food for many other people, in addition, earn about $90,000 a year.
In conclusion, it holds firm to my belief that agriculture can be a fruitful professional path for young
people to take
