 what is an
INTERJECTION?
 INTERJECTION is a word that is added to a
sentences to convey emotion. Sentences
expressed with interjections are not only
used to describe angry or surprised
emotions, interjections are also often used
when someone feels sad, happy, agrees with
something, apologizes, or even when they
feel guilty.
 why should we use
INTERJECTIONS in our writing?

Express your strong feelings :

“Oh, no!” or “ouch!that hurts!”
If it’s mild feeling just use a comma :
“HET, are yoy going too?”
Show hesitation, also set off by a comma :
“Um, do you want the last bite?”
 Types of Interjections
Emotional interjections : This interjection is used to express feelings, especially in situations
such as showing amazement, happiness, or admiration.
Example: Wow! Awesome! Yay! Oh yeah!
Censorial Interjectionsit : is used to emphasize an expression of disagreement or
dissatisfaction/disappointment.
Example: Ouch! Oh no! Argh!
exclamatory interjections : are used specifically to express excitement, or surprise in a positive
way.
Example: Eureka! Wowza! Hurrah!
volitional interjections : which means they are used to express a feeling of hope or ask for
something. This interjection is often used in sentences that express desires, or to give orders.
Example: Hey! Hmmm Please!
