CHAPTER N.1

Glow Up with
Face Fitness:
Relax Muscles

Glow Up with Face Fitness:
Relax Muscles
Face fitness is crucial for maintaining
youthful, toned skin. Relaxing the muscles in
your face can reduce tension, improve
circulation, and promote a healthy, glowing
complexion. Here are some exercises from
my Face Fitness System designed to relax
your facial muscles:

1. Jaw Release: Place your thumb under

your chin and gently press while opening
and closing your mouth. Repeat this 10
times to relax your jaw muscles.
2. Cheek Relaxer: Use your fingertips to
gently massage your cheeks in a circular
motion for about 1-2 minutes. This helps
to release tension and improve blood
flow.

3. Forehead Smoother: Place your fingers on
your forehead and gently smooth the skin
outwards, towards your temples. Repeat this
5-10 times to relax the muscles and reduce
the appearance of fine lines.

4. Eye Soother: Using your ring fingers,

lightly tap around the orbital bone (the bones
around your eyes) in a circular motion. This
helps to reduce puffiness and relax the eye
muscles.

5. Neck Relaxer: Tilt your head back slightly

and use your fingertips to gently massage
the sides and back of your neck in an
upward motion. This helps to release tension
and improve circulation.

CHAPTER N.2

Glow Up with
Gua Sha

VALERIIA

What Is Gua Sha?

Pronounced "gwah-shah," this daily ritual

is a centuries-old facial massage that
involves lightly scraping a flat, rounded
tool, made of jade, rose quartz, or other
healing stones, over the skin. This
promotes lymphatic drainage, relieves
tension in the muscles of the face, and
boosts blood circulation. It also helps
iron out fine lines and break up fascia,
the connective tissue surrounding the
muscles which can get tight and prevent
optimal circulation.
Benefits of a Gua Sha Facial:

Promotes Lymphatic Drainage:

Goodbye puffiness. Practicing Gua
Sha stimulates the lymphatic
system to eliminate water retention
by releasing fluid and toxins through
the lymph system, leaving skin
contoured and glowing.

Increases Circulation: Simply put,

more circulation = more blood flow
= more glowing skin.
Benefits of a Gua Sha Facial:

Relieves Tension: The facial tool

gently massages the often
overlooked muscles in the jaw,
cheeks, and forehead, and can
also be used elsewhere on the
body.

Anti-aging: Regular Gua Sha

practice stimulates collagen
production and may diminish the
appearance of fine lines over
time.
How to Give Yourself a Gua Sha
Facial:

Prep Skin: Start with a clean face,

removing all makeup, skincare,
and SPF. Apply your favorite facial
oil or balm to clean skin, as well as
your neck and shoulders.

Jawline: Using the curved side of

the tool, draw the stone in slow
strokes, massaging from the chin
up to the ear.
How to Give Yourself a Gua Sha
Facial:

Cheeks: Turn the stone to the

flat side, and glide it in outward
strokes across the cheek,
holding it at an angle to
maximize surface area. Then,
use the curved end to move
over the cheekbones.
Under-eyes: Very gently glide
the stone out underneath the
eyes, toward the temples.
How to Give Yourself a Gua Sha Facial:

Forehead: Glide the flat end of the

stone from the brow up to the hairline.
Do the third eye area last, starting just
below the brow line and moving up to
the hairline.
Clean Your Gua Sha Tool: This often
overlooked step should be applied the
way you clean your makeup brushes,
sponges, or other skin tools.
Hydrate: Drink a glass of water and
enjoy your new glow!
