Key Advantages
High Sensitivity Provides real-time elasticity images through improved
tissue motion tracking and data acquisition technique
High Accuracy Improves the prediction delivery or labor induction
success with correct cervical length and internal os
Excellent Patient Care Reduces the burden of further cervical palpation

ElastoScan™
A diagnostic ultrasound technique for imaging elasticity, ElastoScan™ detects the presence of a solid
mass in tissues using ultrasound and subsequently converts the stiffness into color images. Tumors
formed of solid masses are hardly deformed, thus appears less elastic than the surrounding tissues.
The difference in tissue elasticity provides clearer contrast, and it can be used to verify the presence
of a lesions. ElastoScan™ shows the difference in elastic movement of the tissues in pre- and post-
compression. In other words, it depicts the difference in elastic motion of the tissues caused by the
compression of the probe. Elastoscan™ is normally used as an additional diagnostic tool to verify
the state of the region. For instance, in breast or prostate applications, ElastoScan™ is used after
applying palpation, blood test and 2D exam methods to confirm the state of the region.

“In some cases, we couldn’t discriminate the condition of cervix

by palpation. However, ElastoScan™ makes us to evaluate the
condition of cervix more accurately.”

ElastoScan™ of the cervix is able to show not only overall stiffness of the cervix, but the differences
between parts of the cervix, and to follow the changes going on as the pregnancy approaches term¹.
