STEM Students on why they chose the

STEM strand

Question 1:
Do you have other choices before choosing STEM? Like ABM, HUMSS,
GAS and etc. Yes or No?

Out the of the 10 senior high school respondents, 90 percent of of them said
that they had other options or decisions before finally choosing the STEM
strand. And the remaining 10 percent is from the respondent who only said
no, meaning he/she only wants STEM.
Question 2:
Does your decision choosing STEM will give you more confidence in
studying and will help through academics to be more knowledgeable?

The respondents more likely chose the STEM strand because it will help
them gain more knowledge and will also help them to know the things that
they will encounter when they enter their college years.
Question 3:
How hard do you think these subjects under this strand would be?

According to the question how hard are the subjects under this strand, half of the
respondents answered that the subjects under this strand are in a normal range
meaning that it’s just a little challenging for them as students. While the other half
answered that the subjects under this strand is very hard for them meaning it’s
challenging for them as students.
Question 4:
In which of these subjects is related to the course that you will get?

3 respondents answered pre-calculus as their subject related to the course


that they will get in college, and 4 respondents answered general
mathematics as their subject related to the course that they will get in
college. While 6 respondents answered general chemistry as their subject
related to the course that they will get in college, and another 4 respondents
answered Earth and Life Science/NatSci as their subject related to the
course that they will get in college. And 2 respondents answered Oral
communication as their subject related to the course that they will get in
college. And lastly 1 respondent chose biology as their subject related to the
course that they will get in college.
Question 5:
What grade are you now?

Majority of the respondents are grade 11 STEM students, students who


chose STEM as their strand in senior high school.
