Symptom

When you try to upgrade to SAP Business One version 9.3 PL05 - 9.3 PL07, installation fails with the
following error returned: "SLD Service component installation failed. Installation will be interrupted."

Reproducing the issue

Scenario:

1. Run the upgrade package of SAP Business One or Server Tools version 9.3 PL05 - 9.3 PL07.
2. Select either the Typical installation or Custom, where you will select Landscape Management
Component.
3. Continue with the installation.

Expected behavior:

Installation / upgrade of Server Tools is completed successfully.

Actual behavior:

In some cases, installation of Server Tools fails with the error "SLD Service component installation failed.
Installation will be interrupted."

In the SAP Business One Server Tools log report you find:

• 8 attempts to get information about the System Landscape Directory (SLD) version.
• Log report ends with the error message "ERROR: SLD service component installation failed.
Installation will be interrupted."

Solution

SAP intends to provide a patch or patches in order to solve the problem described. The section References
below will list the specific patches once they become available. The corresponding Info file of the patches in
SAP Service Marketplace will also show the SAP Note number. Be aware that these references can only be
set at patch release date. SAP will deliver patches only for selected releases at its own discretion, based on
the business impact and the complexity of the implementation.
