Journalist The incredible educational system renovator, Maria Montessori, has returned to
Italy. She will tell us about her exile.

Maria Montessori: I left Italy on 1934, the year when all the Montessori schools were
closed, I stayed in Europe until 1939. I stayed in India for 7 years, 5 of which I couldn’t leave the
country, but a lot of people from different parts of India came to meet me. I trained 1500
teachers.

Journalist How long are you staying in Italy?

Maria Montessori: I’m here as an Italian government guest for two months to restart
my method in school and to apply its principles to the new education. Then I’ll leave to India, if
it’s God’s will, I’ll return to Europe.

Journalist If children knew who Montessori is, this tribute would become vote. Her method
is moral and mental childhood liberation. For little wings that open, this woman infuses strength
and responsibility.
