Oral Presentation Guidelines
GUIDELINES
General Objective: The students will demonstrate oral proficiency and effective
communicative skills in the target language related to a topic of their interest.
Specific Objectives:
▪ Students take a stand on a topic of their choice.
▪ Students support their opinions providing detailed arguments and
examples.
▪ Students use grammatical structures from the module.
Assignment:
▪ You have to give an oral presentation of a topic of your choice and state
why this is relevant for you by giving detailed arguments and examples.
▪ You can work individually or in pairs. Each student will be evaluated
individually (even if working in pairs).
▪ You have to prepare a PowerPoint presentation to support your oral
presentation (visual aid).
▪ Each student must include at least 4 grammatical structures from the
module (even if working in pairs).
▪ Your oral presentation must have the following length:
o Individual presentation: 3:00 – 4:00 mins per student.
o Presentation in pairs: 6:00 - 8:00 mins.
▪ You have to sign up with your tutor and decide if you will present during
your tutor session or your native speaker session.
▪ You could prepare an outline of your presentation including the
grammatical structures and functions from your module.

Example of outline:
Slide 1: Introduce yourselves and the table of the contents of the presentation
Slides 2-6: Talk about the topic chosen including the information requested.
Slide 7: Concluding ideas /points/opinions.
