FOMO is the abbreviation for Fear
Of Missing Out. It is the fear of
missing something important.

the Internet and social media, it brings a
sense of urgency to people, which can
change psychologically and financially

FEELING
Basically, FOMO means that others
are having more fun, living better
lives, and having more incredible
experiences than you, which ends
up hurting your self-esteem.

ORIGINS
The origins of FOMO are a little older than you
think, they have been around for hundreds of
years. But in the 1990s, they started learning
the word. The term first appeared in 1996,
following research by marketing strategist Dan
Herman.

SYMPTOMS
Some typical symptoms of people who suffer from
FOMO are: spending a lot of time on social media,
receiving offers for all parties and events, constantly
using smartphones, not living in the moment and
worrying about social media posts social. Online
photos and constantly waiting for new notifications
on your phone often make you feel bad².

REASON
FOMO seems to be more common in
situations of social isolation, such as what is
happening during the COVID-19 pandemic,
or when a person has a health problem that
does not allow them to leave the house² . .
