Lesson Plan 4, unit 3 Rața Elena

1. Materials:

Ball, book, board, markers, flowers with words,

2. Learning goals:
- To learn object pronouns
- To know new words
- To learn how to pronounce “ea”
- To learn time
- To read correctly and to translate the text understanding its truths

3. Warm up:

Hello, my dear students! How are you today? Are you ready for lesson? Great! Let’s pray: dear
Lord, thank you for this day! Please help us to understand and to remember the lesson! Thank
you for these kids, I know you love them! Amen!

Ok, let’s do something what you like very much, let’s play Simon says

Now I invite somebody in front and I say a word and you have to guess: elephant, rabbit, duck,
monkey, and love, to sweep the floor, to wash dishes, doll, and car. Thank you! Now tell me,
please, what I show you: I show this, that, these, those with gestures.

Now you have ten seconds to think to a sentence that your neighbor has to translate, in sentence
you have to use words from vocabulary or something that we learned. I give you the ball and I
say the first sentence in Romanian: eu am un caine, cainele meu este cafeniu, tell me please, the
translation.

Ema, tell me please, what time is it? She answers me. Thank you! Going home after this lesson
you will tell me in English the time. Also, today we’ll learn object pronouns, new words, we’ll
see how to pronounce “ea” and of course we have a new text, I know you’ll love it, it is about a
great Savior. So we’ll have a nice lesson

4. Practice activities:
a. Phonetics

First thing that we have to do is to read some words, I am sure you know how to read them.
Look at the board, here you see some words let’s try to read them: thin, they, mother, brother,
thank, teacher green, Jesus, sad, nice, day, happy, church, match, flood, now, rainbow, knee,
near, apple, pupil, field, night, sir. Today we will learn how to pronounce “ea”. We had a lesson
when we say that “ea” we should read long I, but today we see another form of reading “ea”.
Look at the orange box from the fourth lesson, page 44. I read they look, I read they repeat – 2
times, they read.
b. Vocabulary

We have new words for today: I read the words, and then I read they repeat, then they read and
I translate, then they read and they translate, then somebody read and somebody translate.

Now we read the text: I read they listen, I read they repeat, they read, I translate, they read and
color everything what is about Jesus, then write everything about Him asking children about
truths from the text.

c. Grammar

Tell me, please the gestures for pronouns: I, You, He, She, It, We, You, They. Ok, great!
Somebody complete at the board. Now tell me please when I want to say that something is
mine how I say in english? My! And your! Great! I will give the ball to somebody and you will
translate: mingea mea, marul tau, morcovul lui, banana ei, frunza ei, casa noastra, patul lor.
Somebody complete at the board these forms. Ok, now I know that you can tell me more, for
example Ema translate, please: eu studies biblia cu ea, another child: eu am un caine, eu il
iubesc; tu il iubesti pe Dumnezeu, asculta-l. Today we will see how to say it about we,you and
them, I write at the board these forms of objects pronouns. Let’s remember, what these
pronouns show us? What we know about them? Ok, now let’s translate this sentence and I write
at the board: buneii nostri ne dau jucarii dragute – our grandparents give us nice toys. Now let’s
change the pronoun: your grandparents give you nice toys, their grandparents give them nice
toys, my grandparents give me nice toys. Great!!!

Exercise 3 – they write in their books 3 minutes, then we verify going and writing at the board.

Now you have to show to an object from the class and you have to make a sentence using:
this/that/these/those and an object pronoun. You have some minutes to think about it.

Let’s play a game: everyone has a flower with a word, you have to find that flower that has an
antonym of your word. I put this flower on your back; you can speak but only with mimics. The
words from their flower are: strong, weak, happy, angry, black, white (for color they can show
it on something), love, hate. Now, let’s do exercise 2 in pairs, then each pair come to the board
and write their antonyms: night, day

I show them the numbers and they tell me what number is it. Then we read numbers from the
book. After this I draw a big clock at the board and I write an hour at this clock and ask them:
what time is it? Repeat after me: what time is it? It is ten o’clock. Then I draw 6 o’clock, etc…
in invite somebody at the board to draw his/her hour and to ask the class what time is it, then
they have to write at the board with letters the time. Then we do exercise 1 individual, they
change their books and verify them, if somebody find a mistake raise his/her hand and ask me
about it.

5. Homework:
Exercise from Appendix, to repeat vocabulary and to read the text.

6. Review:

I show with gestures pronouns and you have to tell me its forms as object pronoun: I – me, you
– you, he – him,…. Now I say a verb and you have to put near it an object pronoun then to
translate: tell, obey, take, think of, read, listen to.

I give you this clock and you have to put an hour and ask your neighbor what time is it.

And what did you learn about your Savior? They answer.

Let’s pray! You did a great job today!
