CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

A healthy talent inventory is the key to any organization’s success. Look around
and one will come across the fact that every successful and established
organization possess employees of the best repute. According to industrial
psychologists, talent management plays a huge role in building a business
empire. But finding the suitable talent is a task.

The reason why most start-ups fail before they even reach maturity is – lack of
devoted employees. The root cause of such attrition is the inability of in-house
recruiters to source quality profiles. Therefore, how can one overcome this
recruitment dilemma? The answer is to consult top HR consulting firms in
Bangalore. Top HR consulting firms have the ability to settle issues related to
recruitment in a jiffy. This is because almost all HR consulting firms have only
one policy and that is to drive its focus onto delivering the best HR resources to
companies. HR consulting firms ensure that everything falls in place by devising
customized strategies to overcome problems that hindered the recruitment
process.

However, not all HR outsourcing companies, but only top HR consulting firms
have the ability to recreate plans suiting company requirements. Thus, it is a
must for all companies to seek recruitment help from top HR consulting firms
alone.

How do top HR consulting firms help firms source the best candidate profiles?

Internal matrices:

The notion that all HR consulting firms source profiles through only one portal
is ridiculous. However, there are HR consultant companies that source profiles

7
from single portals, but the best HR consulting firms use internal databases and
other resources that help them source credible profiles.

Handpicked candidates:

Ordinary HR consultant companies might not take the trouble of reviewing

every candidate but some of the best HR consulting firms ensure to treat their
candidates as gems. They personally polish profiles and only choose candidates
that are worth placing in the company.

Follow-ups:

HR outsourcing companies that do not follow-up with their candidates are

rendered unprofessional in their services. Follow-up with candidates is highly
necessary for both the client and the company. It helps HR outsourcing
companies build a good brand whereas the client gets the benefit of interacting
with candidates personally. But most recruiters in HR consultant companies fail
to do follow-ups which are why they tend to not sustain competition in the talent
industry. However, sourcing agents working with the best HR consulting firms
can only do the right follow-ups.

Organizations in this industry give exhortation and help the organizations with
respect to HR and faculty arrangements, worker pay and advantage arranging,
and pay organizations. Significant organizations incorporate Aon Hewitt and
Mercer (both situated in the US), Willis Towers Watson (situated in Ireland),
and divisions of worldwide counselling firms like Deloitte and Accenture.

The overall (HR) counselling administrations industry produces about $31

billion in income every year, as indicated by Consultancy.uk. The US is the
biggest market for counselling administrations generally speaking, yet

8
worldwide firms are focusing on other industrialized locales with arising
economies for development. The Asia/Pacific locale is a main market for
industry development.

The US HR counselling administrations industry incorporates around 8,000

foundations (single-area organizations and units of multi-area organizations)
with consolidated yearly income of about $18 billion. (Global HR Scenario,
n.d.)

Inclusion of the bigger Consulting Services industry is remembered for a

different profile. Proficient Employers’ Associations (PEOs), which give re-
evaluated HR the board administrations, are additionally shrouded in a different
industry profile.

INDIAN SCENARIO

The presence of HR administrations in India can be followed back to 1960 and

1970. Before 1991, HR industry was obliging the requirements of the
industrialized area. In any case, post progression, there was an abrupt
convergence of worldwide organizations into the Indian economy attributable
to the enormous capability of the undiscovered market. Before very long, the
work counselling organizations in India saw an emotional ascent in the interest
of labour at last prompting the development of industry in itself. An enormous
number of occupations specialist in India were brought forth to make the most
of the neglected chances.

In the main years, Indian IT organizations left an imprint for themselves and
conveyed reappropriating administrations to worldwide goliaths. This is a main

9
consideration which drove its development counselling organizations in India.
The IT area provided by the applicable ability made milestones and turned into
the biggest supporter of the National Gross Domestic Product.

With the progression of innovation and web, HR industry has adjusted itself on
a way of remarkable development. On account of the upheaval in web
innovation and advanced cell utilization, job experts in India are investigating
every possibility to grow their compass to each conceivable computerized
promoting channels. They are advertising forcefully through cold pitches, email
mass missions, SEO and Social Media Marketing to arrive at the associations
searching for new ability.

Throughout the two or three years, internet unrest has prompted a sharp ascent
in the tech based organizations. These organizations are all around financed by
unfamiliar financial backers and will pay for the enlistment of skilled staff in
their associations. Since these tech organizations are new to the situation, they
need insight in enrolment. Accordingly, these start-up and tech organizations
wind up selecting the administrations of occupation experts and IT counselling
organizations in India.

India is likewise perceived all around the world for its re-evaluating
organizations. Because of unspecialized job timings and occupation pressure,
these organizations will in general have a high wearing down rate, which is a
business opportunity for occupations specialist in India. There are some new age
business people who need to carry advancement to effectively universal HR
administration conveyance model. These business visionaries are endeavouring
to foster a model which conveys advantages to specific areas of society like
housewives or common positions. A portion of the models are Sheroes,
JobSpire, and Aasanjobs. While there are a few organizations who need to

10
challenge the current quest for new employment model of huge players of the
work market.

HR industry administrations involves enlistment, re-appropriating, finance

administrations, HR innovation and HR counselling among others. Enlistment
shapes the greatest lump of HR administration industry in India and it is a
significant income hotspot for the top consultancy organizations in India.

Post liberalization, various creative MNCs came into the Indian Territory and
uncovered the inadequacies of Indian organizations. These organizations
reacted by sticking to the counselling administrations and enlisting the best
ability from work experts in India. Indian associations likewise extended past
public lines to support themselves in the midst of vicious contest in the
homegrown domain. Subsequently, the job of HR firms rose above from a
simple occupation specialist to an essential consultant of the drawn out HR
strategy of the organizations.

13
ORGANISATION DESIGN AND STRUCTURE

All the three branches Avanthee Consulting are interdependent.

Bangalore being the head office, the CEO and the Head of Operations remain
the same. The branches of Pune and Chennai work on the leads of the
particular city or state itself while any other location that does not fall under
the purview of those branches will be considered by the Bangalore branch. As
I worked with the Bangalore branch, the organizational chart is as above.

The CEO, Mr. Sudheer .B.N. is the head of all three branches. Ms. Archana
Kamat is the Head of Operations across all three branches and handles all the
details of the clients, their needs and requirements. Managers are specific to
the location and they are further allotted with three interns and one regular
employee. As a team, their work keeps changing pertaining to the industry or
the client. Over the three locations, the employees are approximately about
20-25 members and they have 10 interns currently. These work with multiple
clients and sometimes their industries are also rotated to ensure understanding
of all the clients and all the requirements. Currently they have fifteen active
clients but the actual number of clients are 27-30. Due to the covid crisis in
the country, some of the IT companies and other academic hiring has come to
a total halt.

On a whole, I understand that the company is following flat organization

structure. The tasks are highly decentralized and every manager becomes the
boss of their own team and take the decisions. Anyone, even the interns could
communicate across teams in case if they have genuine concerns or
suggestions. This is done to have increased focus on each client or the
industry.

DEPARTMENTS / DIVISIONS / AREAS OF THE
ORGANIZATION:

Since Avanthee Consulting is known for providing talent acquisition

services to various organisations, the departments in this organisation majorly
consist of HR and the entire team is divided according to the geographical
sectors in India with the same departmental structure of the organisation. CEO
being at his highest place, followed by the Head of Operations in each state
who takes care of other managers in their state/city. The managers are
responsible for the employees and interns at each city. The CEO also indulges
in taking care of the organisation’s finances. Since Avanthee Consulting is a
HR recruiting firm, the departments mainly comprises of HR alone and thus
the areas include the Managing Direcotrs, Head of Operations in HR,
Managers in HR, employees and interns in HR department. Financials,
Marketing and Human Resource services are taken care by the CEO and Head
of Operations and hence they term themselves in having just one department
of managers and employees. The major financials, technological
developments and other services are done by recruiting experts in the
respective fields on a term basis and no major department is dedicated for
financials and other services of the organisation.

Key Result Area of Avanthee Consulting is determined by the number

of quality candidates who are selected for the job and who are prosperous in
future. This enables the client to build trust on the company as the clients’ aim
of hiring the right candidate is fulfilled and the satisfaction of serving the

CHAPTER 3: NATURE OF WORK UNDERTAKEN

At Avanthee Consulting, I worked as a Human Resource Intern and had a

good exposure on knowing how recruitment process arises in differenct sectors
of indurstires. I had applied through Internshala and had a telephonic interview
with Ms. Archana Kamat, Head of Operations. The first working day was on
10th January 2022 and my day-to-day responsibilities included posting job ads,
sourcing profiles, calling the selected candidates, and working on end-to-end
recruitment using Monster, Indeed, Facebook and LinkedIn. Clock-in and clock-
out every day to mark our daily attendance was through Tata Cliq. The stipend
during the period of one month was Rs 2500 and the duration was from 10-01-
2022 to 10-02-2022. The timings was from 9:30am to 6:30pm from Monday to
Friday along with 1 hour for lunch break and 9:30am to 1:30pm on Saturdays
and Sundays being a weekly holiday. The last or 4th Saturday of every month is
a holiday. I was reporting my work to Ms Archana Kamat, who helped me
throughout my tenure, cleared all my doubts and motivated me to bring in more
candidates to the clients. Every 2nd Saturday there was a general team meeting
with the CEO, managers and the interns throughout the country, where the
details of the client and weekly improvement was discussed along with training
sessions with regards to understanding Human Resource Management and
performance appraisal of each intern was given by their respected managers
through words. Since I was reporting to Ms Archana Kamat, her feedback during
