INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this study is to in-depth investigate these barriers and

provide solutions. By addressing these issues, educators can preserve the

historical tradition of workmanship that is deeply embedded in the curriculum

while also enhancing the readiness of students for the demands today’s

industries.

Education in the field of industrial arts is vital to provide students with the

information and abilities needed for a variety of trades and industries. Because

of a long tradition of handicrafts and handmade activities in the Philippines,

industrial arts courses have historically placed a strong emphasis on manual

skills. But as technology develops, introducing power tools throughout

educational programs offers a promising way for improving output as well as

effectiveness. Despite the possible advantages, a number of barriers limit power

tools from being widely used in industrial arts courses in Philippine educational

institutions. In result, determining between manual and power tools in industrial

arts courses should not depend on which is better overall; rather, it should be

based on an awareness of the advantages and disadvantages that are particular to

each. While power tools are more efficient and quicker, manual tools are more

instructive and help develop skills like patience, accuracy, and problem-solving.

Through sufficient instruction, safety procedures, and a nurturing learning


atmosphere, students can surmount the obstacles related to manual tools and

cultivate a more profound comprehension of craftsmanship as well as a

heightened appreciation for the artistry of their work. In the end, a well-rounded

education that uses both hand and power tools can enable students to develop

into adaptable, talented craftspeople who can meet a variety of obstacles in the

rapidly changing industrial arts sector.
