CELL

Organization in Organisms
Every living thing is made up of cell…
What is a cell?
The cell is the basic
unit of life. They are
incredibly small units
that make up all living
organisms, including
plants, animals, and
even microorganisms.
The cell have
different
organelles or
parts so that it
can function very
well.
Cell Membrane
• The cell membrane is a
barrier that surrounds the
cell.
• It controls the movement
of substances in and out
of the cell, allowing
nutrients to enter and
waste products to exit.
• It also helps maintain the
cell's shape and provides
protection.
Cytoplasm
•The cytoplasm is a
gel-like substance
that fills the cell
between the nucleus
and the cell
membrane.
NUCLEUS
• The nucleus the control
center of the cell.
• It contains the cell's
genetic material, called
DNA.
• The nucleus directs the
cell's functions and is
responsible for the
reproduction and
growth of the cell.
MITOCHONDRIA
•Mitochondria is the
powerhouse of the
cell.
•Mitochondria have
their own DNA and can
self-replicate within
the cell.
ENDOPLASMIC
RETICULUM
•It plays a crucial role
in the synthesis,
modification, and
transport of
proteins and lipids.
GOLGI
APPARATUS
• The Golgi apparatus is
responsible for packaging,
modifying, and sorting
proteins and lipids received
from the endoplasmic
reticulum.
• It packages these molecules
into vesicles for transport to
other parts of the cell or for
secretion outside the cell.
LYSOSOME
• Lysosomes contain
digestive enzymes.
• They break down waste
materials, cellular debris,
and foreign substances,
aiding in cellular recycling
and defense against
pathogens.
