Media outlets are important character in creating and modeling how different groups of people are
recognized , interpreted and sense of interpretation of information that helps in distinguishing in
society today. The following are some of the attributes that media has encouraged that recognize a
difference in various groups of people:

Physical Appearance
Media frequently emphasizes physical attributes for example skin color, teeth set , hair complexion ,
body size, face shapes ,to differentiate racial and ethnic groups. This therefore lengthen stereotypes
and based on appearance.

Cultural Practices
Cultural practices are promoted through various forms of media for example television , music as well as
social media for example cultural practices are highlighted and celebrated through television shows such
as documentaries that is to say dances , traditional songs this however leads to identity
misinterpretations.

Language and Accent


This has been done through different phases which are forms of media that is films , televisions as well
as social media. Language and accent are important in portraying characters in communities . This can
reinforce linguistic stereotypes.

Socioeconomic Status
This is exercised through various forms of media such as advertising that reflect characters and
communities for example products or services are usually put to market in that way targets specific
social economic groups . Media as well reflects characters based on clothes .These portrayals can
perpetuate class distinctions and stereotypes.

Media in most cases shines out different features for example stereotypes , gender norms as well as
sexual orientations this influences how groups are viewed or treated based on their own sexual
orientation and gender identity .

to portray these individuals accurately and respectfully.

men tend to look for masculine bodies and women tend to look for thick bodies .
