NCM 110: NURSING INFORMATICS

The field of nursing informatics integrates information science, computer science, and

nursing science to enhance the provision of healthcare. Technology Informatics Guiding

Education Reform (TIGER) and the Clinical Information Systems Framework (CISF) are two

well-known frameworks. The goal of TIGER is to integrate technology into nursing education

and practice while highlighting the importance of interprofessional collaboration, leadership

development, and standardized informatics competencies. CISF offers a thorough method for

developing and putting into practice clinical information systems, with a focus on information

sharing, decision support, and data collection. By improving informatics competencies and

optimizing clinical workflows, these frameworks are helpful resources for nurses and

healthcare organizations looking to effectively use technology in the healthcare industry.
