KABATAAN KONTRA DROGA AT TERORISMO (KKDAT) SYMPOSIUM

ACCOMPLISHMENT / AFTER ACTIVITY REPORT

As an effective preventive education and information program to counter the dangers and ill
effects of drug abuse, the Sangguniang Kabataan Pederasyon Council of the Municipality of Baliangao
with the support of the Local Chief Executive, Hon. Mayor Hanerya Theresa Yap-Chiong and under the
supervision of the Municipal Local Government Operations Officer through the Local Youth
Development Officer spearheaded a program/activity entitled, “Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo
(KKDAT) Symposium” held at the Municipal Gymnasium of Baliangao, Misamis Occidental last
December 29, 2024.

This is a one-day symposium which aims to raise awareness of the major problems that illicit
drugs present to society and at the same time, remind youths and adults not to make the mistake of
experimenting with drugs. This is also designed to provide an open and comfortable atmosphere for
learning by employing simple, practical details regarding the harmful effects of illegal drugs that are easy
for the participants to comprehend.

The said symposium was participated by the members of the Sangguniang Kabataan
Pederasyon Council of the Municipality of Baliangao including some of the Sangguniang Kabataan
Officials both elective and appointive and some of the vulnerable youth of the municipality.

The program/activity was formally opened with an invocation and a national anthem in an
audio-visual presentation. An opening remarks was delivered by the SK Pederasyon President, Hon.
Hannah Riche B. Yap followed by a very inspiring message by the Local Chief Executive, Hon. Mayor
Haneya Theresa Yap-Chiong. Focal persons and experts on Kabataan Kontra Droga and Terorismo
Symposium such as the personnel from RHU, personnel from MSWD, PNP, Municipal Local
Government Operations Officer and other interrelated agencies are the resource speakers available to
aid the organizers during the event.

To make the activity more interactive, dynamic and participant-engaging, there are lots of Ice
Breakers employed led by the SK Chairpersons of the Municipality of Baliangao and some of the
volunteers coming from the participants of the said event.

This activity significantly helps in disseminating vital information against the use of narcotics and
illegal drugs, thus, it should be participated by all sectors of the community.
