LETTER OF OFFER

Welcome to VICSWIM and Aquatics and Recreation Victoria

This contract sets out the terms and conditions of your employment.

1. Employment
1.1 You will be employed on a casual basis in the position of Swim Teacher for VICSWIM commencing on
Monday December 4, 2023.

1.2 The position will report directly to Jennifer Szuster, VICSWIM Program Coordinator at ARV.
1.3 Your conditions of employment will be determined by the Fitness Industry Award 2020 (Level 4) which
can be viewed online at http://www.fwc.gov.au/documents/modern_awards/pdf/MA000094.pdf

2. Location
2.1 You will be allocated to a Regional coordinator of the VICSWIM Summer Kidz program who will be in
contact with you to allocate you to a venue.

2.2 Your final work location/s and rosters will be available on December 4, 2023. You will be able to view your
venue's class list by logging into the VICSWIM portal.

3. Hours
3.1 As a casual employee you will not have reasonably predictable or regular hours of work, and they will be
dictated by the demands of the VICSWIM program. You are expected to be available as required between
Tuesday, 2 January - Friday, 19 January.

In addition to the VICSWIM program delivery hours, VICSWIM staff are entitled to claim additional hours on
their timesheet for the following reasons

Teacher
Pre-Program Meeting Up to 3hrs
Site Induction 1hr
Daily Set Up (Open Water) 15 mins
Daily Pack Down (Open Water) 15 mins
Organising Certificates 1hr

Sole Teacher
Pre-Program Meeting Up to 3hrs
Site Induction 1hr
Daily Set Up (Pool) - 15 mins
Daily Pack Down (Pool) - 15 mins
Organising Certificates 1hr

Teacher-In-Charge
Pre-Program Meeting Up to 3hrs
Site Induction 1hr
Daily Set Up (Pool) - 15 mins
Daily Pack Down (Pool) - 15 mins
Daily Set Up (Open Water) - 30 mins
Daily Pack Down (Open Water) - 30 mins
Organising Certificates 1hr

4. Hourly Rate of Remuneration

4.1 You will be paid a gross hourly casual rate for time worked (less applicable taxation) of

34.08
inclusive of any applicable casual loading.

Sole Teacher and Teachers in Charge will be paid the following allowances per day:

Sole Teacher First Aid ($2.86 per day)

Teacher-In-Charge (1-5 people) First Aid ($2.86 per day) + Leading Hand ($0.71 per hour)
Teacher-In-Charge (6-10 people) First Aid ($2.86 per day) + Leading Hand ($0.96 per hour)

These rates are in line with the Fitness Industry Award rates.

Additional rates of pay may vary depending on the location and your responsibilities at that location.

5. Superannuation
5.1 In addition to the remuneration paid, the Employer will make the compulsory minimum superannuation
contributions required into a complying fund in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee
(Administration) Act 1992 (Cth).

6. Expenses
6.1 You will be reimbursed for all reasonable out-of-pocket business expenses incurred in the proper
performance of your duties that are authorized in advance by the Employer and supported by appropriate
receipts, subject to the terms of any applicable workplace policy.

7. Company Property
7.1 The Employer may provide you with company property during the course of your employment such as
kickboards, noodles, life jackets, dive toys, etc.. You must ensure that all company property in your
possession or control is properly cared for and maintained and provided back to ARV at the completion of the
VICSWIM program.
8. Duties & Responsibilities
8.1 Your duties & responsibilities are outlined in the ARV Swim Teacher position description.

8.2 Prior to the commencement of the VICSWIM Summer Kidz Program, you must provide a copy of your
Swim Teacher Qualification, CPR, Health and Fitness Assessment and a current Working with Children Check
to Aquatics & Recreation Victoria.

If you are unable to provide ARV with a copy of your Swim Teacher Qualification, current CPR and a current
Working With Children's Check prior to the commencement of the program, you will NOT be able to
participate in the program in any capacity. You must at all times, diligently and faithfully perform your duties
and responsibilities in the best interests of ARV and act in compliance with Victorian Government Law.

9. Termination
9.1 As a casual employee, your employment terminates at the end of each engagement and recommences on
each new engagement. However, you or the Employer may terminate your employment or any engagement
at any time for any reason by giving one hour’s notice of termination, or the payment or forfeiture of one
hour’s wages in lieu of notice.

9.2 On termination of your employment, you must immediately return to the Employer all company property
that is in your possession, custody or control including but not limited to: all documents, Confidential
Information, company property, software, computers, credit cards, keys, vehicles and property leased by the
Employer.

10. VICSWIM Policies and Procedures

10.1 You must comply with all the VICSWIM Policies and Procedures as outlined in your induction email.
