APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION INTO VARIOUS BACHELOR DEGREE PROGRAMMES FOR
THE 2024/2025 ACADEMIC YEAR

Mzumbe University invites applications from qualified Tanzanians and non-Tanzanians for admission into various degree programmes
offered at Mzumbe University for the 2024/2025 academic year. The Bachelor Degree Programmes are offered in three campuses
namely, the Mzumbe University-Main Campus in Morogoro (MU); Mzumbe University-Dar es Salaam Campus College (MUDCCo); and
Mzumbe University-Mbeya Campus College (MUMCCo). In order to be considered for admission to any of the programmes, applicants
must specify in their application the campus they prefer. Programmes codes are important to take into account when choosing a study
programme since they identify the campus where the programme is offered. Candidates may select up to three choices; selection is
based on the candidate's preferences for the programme and ability to compete on the basis of academic performance.

Any programme with a code starting with “MU” is offered at Mzumbe University - Main Campus; while the code starting with “MDA” is
offered at the Mzumbe University-Dar es Salaam Campus College (MUDCCo) and a code starting with “MMB” is offered at the Mzumbe
University-Mbeya Campus College (MUMCCo). Before deciding which programmes to apply for, Mzumbe University strongly advises all
applicants to carefully read the entry requirements listed below.

Mode of Application:
i. To apply online, applicants should visit https://admission.mzumbe.ac.tz/ and carefully follow the steps in the online application
system. Before going to the online application system, it is important to ensure that he/she has an active email address and a valid
mobile phone number.
ii. Before proceeding with application, you must read carefully the programme entry requirements in order to make rational choices.

 iii. Applicants with Foreign Secondary School Certificates must attach equivalent translations from the National Examinations Council
of Tanzania (NECTA).
iv. Applicants with Foreign Qualifications (Certificate or Diploma) must attach equivalent translations from the National Council for
Technical Education (NACTE).
v. Applicants must pay a non-refundable application fee of TZS 10,000/= by following payment procedures after completing steps 1
and 2 in the Online Application and Admission System.
vi. The application window is open from June to October, 2024. Successful applicants will be notified through their system user
accounts, email addresses and SMS through the mobile phone numbers used during the application process. Applicants are
required make sure that they keep their admission account login credentials (username and password) securely and visit their
accounts regularly.

A. GENERAL MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR DEGREE PROGRAMMES

(a) Direct Entry Qualifications

(i) An applicant must have at least three (3) O-Level credit passes in relevant subjects according to specific programme

(ii) The applicant must have at least two principal passes at A-Level; provided that the total number of points is at least 4.5 with
EXCEPTION of Bachelor of Science with Education programme (MU025) offered in the Faculty of Science and Technology
which requires at least 4.0 A-level points.

(iii) For purpose of calculating minimum cut-off points in (ii) above, the scale is as follows: A=5; B=4; C=3; D=2; E=1; S=0.5. For
candidates who sat for their Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination in 2014 and 2015, the required scale
is as follows; A=5; B+=4; B=3; C=2; D=1; E=0.5. It is important also to note that for the candidates who sat for their Advanced
Certificate of Secondary Education Examination in 2014 and 2015; the principal pass starts at C grade.

 (b) Equivalent Entry Qualifications
(i) Appropriate Diploma from an accredited training institution of not less than 3.0 GPA. In addition, an applicant must have at
least four passes at his/her Certificate of Secondary Education (O-level) Examination.
(ii) Specific programme entry requirements are presented in the table presented under section B.

NOTE: Divinity/Bible Knowledge and Islamic Knowledge are NOT considered in the computation of cut-off points.
