Release Notes & API Documentation

Document Name Description

WP-RN-144 - Wirepas Mesh Firmware v5.0.0.46 and SDK v1.0.0 Release Release notes for Wirepas Mesh Firmware v5.0.0.46 and SDK
Notes - v5.0A 1.0.0 releases. Recommendation is to start reading with
this document.

WP-RM-100 - Wirepas Mesh Dual-MCU API Reference Manual - v5.0A Dual-MCU API defines the protocol how the host application
processor can use the services provided by Wirepas Mesh
stack. Host application processor can be the application
processor in a node, or then gateway which communicates to
the Sink.

This documents provides the information about the SAPs

(Service Access Points) and also the SLIP frame protocol
used on top of the serial interface.

WP-RM-117 - Wirepas Mesh Remote API Reference Manual - 5.0A Wirepas Mesh stack provides a way to configure and
reconfigure nodes remotely, over the Wirepas Mesh network.
Parameters such as node address, network address and node
role can be set or queried. This feature is called the Remote
API.
The Remote API refers to node parameters in the same way
the Wirepas Mesh Dual-MCU API does.

WP-RM-103 - Wirepas Mesh Beacon API Reference Manual - v5.0A Wirepas Mesh Beacon API provides the API interface to
configure Wirepas Mesh network nodes to start transmitting
BLE beacons remotely from backend. It is also possible to
configure the BLE beacon transmissions with Single-MCU
API, recommendation is to read this API document also when
using Single-MCU API libraries for BLE beacon transmission.

Feature Documentation

Document Name Description

WP-RM-108 - OTAP Reference Manual - v5.0A OTAP reference manual describes the Over-The-Air-Protocol
how to update the firmware running in the Wirepas Mesh
network nodes and sinks. The document also provides
information about tools that Wirepas provides for making an
OTAP.

WP-RM-136 - Open Joining and Provisioning - v5.0A This document describes the Open Joining feature which
enables new nodes (which don’t have network credentials yet)
to join to the network and Wirepas Provisioning Protocol which
can be used for getting the network credentials from the
backend system.

WP-RM-134 - Wirepas Mesh Diagnostics v2 Reference Manual - v5.0A Diagnostics_v2 is new generation diagnostics which optimizes
the bandwidth needed to get diagnostics information on
Wirepas Mesh network operation. The diagnostics data
packets are CBOR encoded. This document describes the
diagnostics data and where the CBOR decoders can be found.
Diagnostics_v2 is compatible with Wirepas Network Tool
v3.0.0.xx.

WP-AN-311 - Non-Router Long Sleep - v5.0A With Non-Router Long Sleep (NRLS), the Wirepas Mesh stack
network non-router nodes can be put to sleep from seconds up
to 7 days to preserve energy and still allowing for the
application to keep running in the device. This document
describes the feature how to enable NRLS in the non-router
nodes.
WP-AN-313 - Bluetooth Advertiser Scanner - v5.0A This feature enables a Wirepas Mesh node to scan Bluetooth
advertisements same time as communication over Wirepas
Mesh network. The solution does not include any Bluetooth
protocol stack layers, only capturing the Bluetooth
advertisement data frame and stripping the
advertisement payload for Single-MCU application for further
processing. This document also includes what are the
restrictions to the network operation when enabling the
Bluetooth advertiser scanning in the Wirepas Network node.

WP-RM-131 - Wirepas Mesh Bootloader Development Guide - v5.0A Wirepas Mesh version 4.0 introduces a new bootloader that
can be customized by the application developer. The
bootloader architecture was heavily redesigned from to the
previous Wirepas Mesh versions. This document guides how
to make a booloader application.

HW and Radio Profile Documentation

Document Name Description

WP-RM-113 - nRF528xx Hardware Manual - v5.0A The hardware manual for nRF5283xx provides the information
about possible HW architectures and essential hardware
requirements to run Wirepas Mesh stack on the hardware.

WP-RM-125 - EFR32xG12 Hardware Reference Manual - v5.0A The hardware manual for EFR32xG12 provides the
information about possible HW architectures and essential
hardware requirements to run Wirepas Mesh stack on the
hardware.

WP-AN-325 - WM FW v5.0 EFR32xG12 no-DCDC Migration Guide - v5.0A Wirepas Mesh v5.0 release, introduces a new way to control
the DCDC on EFR32xG12 boards. Previously the DCDC was
controlled by the Wirepas stack and two variants of the SDK
where delivered, the normal one and the no-DCDC variant.
Now when moving to use Wirepas Mesh v5.0 in a v4.0.xx
EFR32xG12 network that has no-DCDC active, this document
describes how to make migration as the bootloader need to be
updated same time as updating the WM stack from v4.0.xx to
v5.0.0.46

WP-PD-109 - nRF528xx 2.4 GHz +4 dBm Radio Profile - v5.0A This document describes the Wirepas Mesh (WM) nRF52
radio profile for 2400MHz-2483.5MHz unlicensed SRD (Short
Range Devices) band (regulatory requirements covered for
Europe and
US).

WP-PD-116 - EFR32xG12 2.4 GHz +8 dBm Radio Profile - v5.0A This document describes the Wirepas Mesh (WM)
EFR32xG12 +8 dBm radio profile for 2400MHz-2483.5MHz
unlicensed SRD (Short Range Devices) band (regulatory
requirements covered for Europe and US).

WP-PD-131 - EFR32xG12 2.4 GHz +19 dBm Radio Profile (US) - v5.0A This document describes the Wirepas Mesh (WM)
EFR32xG12 radio profile for 2400MHz-2483.5MHz +19dBm
unlicensed SRD (Short Range Devices) band for US.

WP-AN-306 - EU Radio Equipment Directive Guidelines for 2.4 GHz This document is designed to assist Wirepas eco-system
operation - v5.0A partners and/or licensees who have the responsibility to take a
final product for sale through the necessary conformance tests
to be compliant with the Radio Equipment Directive (“RED”)
when using in the 2.4 GHz band.
