BEAM AND
COLUMN
Columns and beams are two fundamental
structural elements that are essential
to stability.
They support the weight of the
building and create a safe load path,
transferring the weight and forces
applied to the structure of the
building to the foundation and the
ground

CONNECTION TYPES OF CONNECTION

DEFINITION

A bolted connection between a

beam and a column is a common
method used in structural
engineering to join these two
structural elements.
This type of connection allows
for the transfer of loads,
such as gravity loads and
lateral loads, between the
beam and the column.
The connection is typically
achieved by using bolts and SHEAR AND SHEAR AND
sometimes additional TENSION: BEAM TO TOSION: COLUMN
components such as plates or
angles COLUMN TO COLUMN

BOLT IN GRADE 8.8

CONCLUSION
24mm diameter of bolt grade 8.8 is satisfactory for
the connection, so the connection can support the
load safely

CONCLUSION
bearing capacity of bolt satisfactory. therefore, 24mm diameter
of bolt grade 8.8 is satisfactory for the connection
TRUSSES DEFINITION
Trusses are used in a broad range
of buildings, mainly where there
is a requirement for very long
spans, such as in airport
terminals, aircraft hangers,
sports stadia roofs, auditoriums
and other leisure buildings.
Trusses are also used to carry
heavy loads and are sometimes used
as transfer structures

METHODS OF ANALYSIS OF TRUSSES:

The two common methods of analysis of trusses are the
method of joint and the method of section (or
moment).
Method of joint: This method involves isolating each
joint of the truss and considering the equilibrium of
the joint when determining the member axial force.
